Hello!
One of my clients wants to integrate NFTs into a Roblox game we are creating for him, and I have some doubts about whether Roblox will allow us to do it or not.
The game itself would not have any mining process or NFT creation, but through an HTTP call it would connect to the player’s account on my client’s website, and collect the player’s wallet to know what objects he has. For example, the player buys a pet on the client’s website, and then in the game connects to his account to use the pet he has bought with a “connect to my wallet” button. Through the HTTP call I would only receive a string saying which objects he can use.
My questions are as follows:
-Can I have objects in my game that are obtainable only by purchasing them on my client’s website? (for example, an OP sword)
-If not, can I have items that can be purchased on the client’s website, but can also be obtained in the game through gamepass, badge, etc…?
-I think an official answer from Roblox about this would be necessary, but I have not found any communication channel. Would it be possible to have a chat with a worker who can confirm these concepts? How could I contact them?
To answer your questions from what I know. You can’t use a third party to buy in-game stuff as well you can’t direct users off-platform (under Roblox Community Standards)
I would suggest contacting Roblox for a more informative answer. You can make a ticket using Roblox support (click the cog in the top corner and click help. That should take you to Roblox info page and at the bottom should be a contact us button or type the site URL and add /support instead.)
They were selling NFTs of their own pets and making people link their opensea to roblox for benefits. As far as I know they were left with a slap on their hand because of their size and you can’t link the account anymore. Don’t do it if you think that you can get away with it. That’s how you fall
