Hello, everyone! As a developer, it’s currently too hard to have another place other than the group wall and shout in order to post updates about my group and games.
My suggestion actually is the addition of a 2nd group “wall” for admins to post their thoughts and let everyone know about them. If this feature gets added, these new permissions will appear:
Then, the users that are allowed to view the group feed would see something like this:
I made this on MS Paint, sorry for it being trash
The people that have the permission to post there would see something like this:
I made this on MS Paint too, please excuse me once more
The users would see the feed by clicking a group feed button. Because the group feed is meant to be for important notices by staff members, a red dot would appear beside the button if there were any unread feed messages. The group feed could also be used as a way for staff members to discuss themselves privately.
There could also be the option for system messages to appear. It would be toggled by going to the Settings section of the “Configure Group” page. This is how it could look like:
These system messages could appear:
- Notifications for posts in social medias (13+ only) (based on the group social medias)
- Notifications about newly promoted staff members (these notifications would be toggled in the settings of each role)
- New game releases
- New game updates (based on game update notifications)
If Roblox is able to address this issue, it would improve my development experience because I would have a separate place for important notifications and a separate place to discuss with other staff members (if I choose to make the group feed private).
So, this means:
- The group feed would allow more groups to open their walls for everyone.
- The important changes would never get unnoticed.
- There would be an additional, dynamic way to let everyone know about something without using group shouts. For example, the shout would be used for important notifications and the activity feed for less important ones.
Thanks for reading my post and have a nice day! Leave a like if you agree!
yes, I was inspired by the XBOX activity feed feature
