Adventurers of Honeywood - First Game

Hey Everyone,

I was hoping to get feedback on the game that we released today. It’s in early stages, but we wanted people to start playing it. The game is called Adventurers of Honeywood. It’s a RPG fantasy game where you can fight monsters, scavage, and explore the land. We are going to add a lot more gameplay. We’re going to add: crafting, magic, housing, pets, quest, and dungeons. Let me know how we can improve with the trailer and in the game. Thank you.

Great game, It look like a nice fantasy to add in Roblox and the Game you create was very surprising to me. The realistic characters was insane, Just a feedback the loading of the game take sometime on loading and if you could you maybe increase the speed of loading it could be better, Overall impressive game.

Sounds good. I wrote that down. We’re going to keep optimizing it to get the load times down.

I’ve only watched the trailer so far, but this looks amazing. How long did it take to make everything that you have so far? (3d modeling, coding, ect.)

This is minor, but the thumbnail on the game is cropped weirdly, this one:

Also, I’d check out this video on how to make your game trailers better. I found it great and think I’d help: Reviewing YOUR GAME TRAILERS - YouTube

It took about 2 years to get to this point, but that includes everything. The first 14 months was just dedicated to learning blender, animations, coding, etc. My partner spent that time mainly learning coding to be the main scripter. The remaining 10 months was dedicated to making the game that we released today.

I played the game, and it doesn’t yet feel fully finished to me. My main issues with it are:

  • The animations are sort of wacky and are prone to a few glitches. The jumping animation in particular seems unnatural due to the extremely wide range of motion on the arms and legs. I also found that jumping off a high ledge would make my character T-pose after I’d been falling long enough.
  • I was able to get beyond the map boundary on the starting island just by walking against a clip until I found a hole, so I’d recommend touching up the clips throughout the game.
  • Rolling acts kind of strangely into a wall. By constantly jumping and rolling while pressed against a wall, I could fling myself fairly high.
  • The moss textures on many of the rocks are pixelated and cut off awkwardly, which is something I think you should look into if you want the style of your game to be consistent.

If some of these issues are worked out, I think the game will feel a lot more complete and ready for a larger playerbase.
