Advertising feedback needed

I thought I had was a good, colorful design that wasn’t like all the clickbait ads out there, yet the highest CTR I got was 0.48%. It seems like something close to 1% is good based on other forum posts.

Any constructive criticism for this ad? I’d love to hear it.

TIA…

It’s decent in general

The GFX is good, the color palette is decent, the editing is pretty nice; overall this is decent. Although there’s a couple of problems to this…

Problems

  • The font of the text is ugly and overused. I recommend trying out any of these fonts (The font names are the words in the images):

  • There is no context to the advertisement. Players won’t know what kind of game you have when they click the advertisement because of no context.

  • Make it look interesting. You could add a screenshot of your game’s map. And again, add context; your game may be amazing, but your advertisement looks a bit dull and looks like one of those clickbait advertisements that you see everywhere.

Conclusion

In order to make a good advertisement, you must be able to give some context to the player seeing the advertisement.

Make it look interesting, add something that will surely make players curious about your game. And avoid words like “Escape the Vampire” or “Be the Vampire”.

Anyways, I hoped this helped!

Thanks for the detailed feedback!

I’m a little unsure of how to add more context. Can you elaborate? I mean the game is about escaping a house of vampires, and if you get bitten and don’t find the antidote, you become a vampire and can then infect other players. That’s also why those specific words were used in the ad.

I’m not sure I could put the map on the ad because there’s not much room, and it’s a big house with outside parts too like a garden and cemetery. Do you mean just like putting the house in the background?

I appreciate the detail and thought you put into that feedback. Thank you very much!

Here’s an example.

I can’t explain much, but I can give you an example. I tried to use all of my points to remake your advertisement, didn’t put that much effort to it, but it should give you an idea.

As you can see, I used one of the fonts I showed you earlier. I also gave context that the game is a horror game, and you’re supposed to run from a vampire. I also made it look interesting by adding all kinds of effects, like vignette, blur, zoom blur, and other stuff.

Isn’t my best work, but it should give you a small idea.

My highest CTR% came from ad with words typed like a 5 year old wrote it and no images of the actual game. Just saying, the bigger the ad doesn’t mean you will get a high CTR%.

I get what you’re saying. And I guess fewer words mean (a) its quicker to make an impression bc they don’t have to read much, and (b) it’s possible for the viewer to infer several different things about the game versus trying the explain the game in the ad.

Yeah I wonder what the CTR was for the ad that said “I used my mom’s credit card for this”

The tutorial i designed my ad from; mentions most kids like the cartoony looking alphabet characters.

FYI… I ran this ad in a limited test and it got 0.52%, which is only 0.007% better than the previous ad.

So… I don’t think that was the magic formula. :frowning:
