I am a developer on a game called ‘The Grinch Killings.’ And so our ads and sponsors have been doing really well, but the game is not profiting. We havn’t made half of what we put into sponsors and ads, and are kind of stumped on what to do. Any advice on how to make a good profit?
From playing your game for just a few minutes I have an idea on what may be wrong here.
Players don’t know about passes or don’t want to view them.
Your gamepass stand in-game has no description on what the passes do and the player has to interact with the gamepass stand which players will avoid due to them knowing this will involve a purchase.
Making someone want to purchase a pass
Your game does not prompt a player to purchase a pass at anytime during my gameplay and the leaderboard doesn’t show wins which takes away the competitive aspect making players less likely to purchase passes.
Sorry if this seems like a lot
Goodluck with the game though!
You could try to add in-game items that can be purchased for a slight advantage in the game, as I’d assume that this game is a Mini-game sort of game. This could be a system similar to what Epic Minigames uses to sell their items. This in turn, may generate you loads of revenue, if used correctly. However, I’d recommend you do this after every match, or every minute, as overloading the screen with Advertisements may offset the players’ interest’s in the game and how much they might consider spending. It may also be against the T.O.S. if you are forcing the user to purchase something in the game, so you could just do it as a, “Recommendation”, or, “LIMITED TIME”. Something like this may help you generate a lot more revenue for the type of game that you have here. If you’d like some more advice in generating profit, you could just reply here with, “I’d like more information”. Have a good day, and Merry Christmas if you celebrate it!
Games like Murder Mystery and Wild Revolvers is also a round-based game and has similar content with your game, as your game is also a round-based game where players have to survive against the grinch.
Yet your game does not include any special features for the survivors, because what they do is just running away from the grinch every round. And that makes no fun for the survivors, which they will be striving to be the grinch after the round ends.
So I suggest adding some kind of advantage for the survivors, so they can at least do something throughout the game to prevent them from getting killed by the grinch. Or you could even make different classes of survivors so they can have different abilities to juke off the grinch.
Thus, you could come up with special rounds such as:
Round with two grinches.
Free for all; everyone becomes a grinch and attempts to be the last one standing.
That way people wouldn’t be bored playing the same type of round every time.
GAME PASS
What is the purpose of 50 ROBUX game passes when they won’t make you any profit? Come up with a better game pass that provides a reason to be bought at an increased price.
OTHER DETAILS
There can be enhancements on the UI because they look like it was rushed. It also seemed like the round display bugged when I was playing the second round.
CONCLUSION
So have in mind, you need to make your game attractive so that more people are convinced to play your game multiple times, not once. Also, a strategy game called “World Conquest” reached 1.1M+ visits when they haven’t used a single ad, but only getting featured by multiple communities and theirs. You should attempt to spread awareness of your game instead of spending thousands of robux for ads.
You’re correct. However, it cost like 50 ROBUX per game pass, so how will they able to make a profit off it? Thus, relying on the game pass for profit is a worse thing to do.
Indeed, Game-passes are not very profitable if not advertised in the game. If there are enough advertisements, then it may work, but then many people would most likely own the Game-passes, and as a result, you may lose out on more potential profit if they are willing to pay more robux. Thus, Developer Products are excellent to use in these sorts of games, as you could add a currency that could be purchased, and this currency could be used to get items or something in the game that may help the player, as like a boost to survive or kill the other players. These Developer Products could be purchased many times over, and you could even have a shop dedicated to these items, with sales like, “WEEKEND SALE”; “HOLIDAY SALE”; “RELEASE SALE”; “LIMITED”. This marketing may influence how much revenue you make by a significant amount.
Decent reasoning. But I don’t see any reason why one would be convinced to buy a game pass if he/she wouldn’t play the game twice. What you said is a case for major games that have active users who tend to play that game multiple times a week. But in this situation, the game lacks general content that attracts the users to play the game - which meaning by, game passes wouldn’t work out.
Mhmm, I see where you’re going here. However, if this game does have the content that continuously attracts users, then I’d see how Developer Products would be essential and Game-passes would be used as a one item purchase, which could still be used for an item, haha.
I hope that he does continue working on this project, and enhance user experience, as that may drive in more respect toward the game, and potentially increase revenue, as that’s what he’s going for.
Same here. I think the game theme was pretty fresh and amazing because I haven’t seen a game producer who used the grinch at this period of time. (Christmas)
