After changing my hard-drive to an SSD, Roblox Studio frequently crashes whenever I try to test a game

Reproduction Steps
Frankly I’m not sure what’s triggering it, but here’s relevant system info:

PC Model: Alienware Aurora R5
Processor: Intel Core i7-6700 CPU @ 3.40 GHz, 3401 Mhz, 4 cores, 8 logical processors
BIOS Version / Date: Alienware 1.0.23, 6/16/2020
RAM: 24 GB
Available RAM: 15.5 GB
Disk: SanDisk SSD PLUS 2000GB
Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER

Expected Behavior
I expect that when I press the Test > Play button to enter my game that it doesn’t crash within the first few seconds.

Actual Behavior
It crashes 50% of the time, even when I’m playing on an empty baseplate. Some possible tangent symptoms include:

  • when I enter studio it tells me: Plugin moderation check failed: HttpRequest “BulkPluginAssetDetailsFetcher::sendRequest”: got network error status: 429
  • after studio crashes in the minute or so following it fails to be able to authenticate that I’m logged in
  • some of my installed plugins aren’t showing up in the studio plugin management list

Workaround
I can start a server, which takes longer but when it crashes it only bricks the new window, rather than forcing me to re-enter entirely. It only seems to crash the client window when I do this.

Issue Area: Studio

You should check your log files for more information on the frequent crashes. If you don’t know how, click this.

It helped me when I had crashes on my pc in which the logs said that my graphics driver was causing the issue (I had to revert to an older version of the driver and it worked).

By any chance do you use Cloudflare WARP? These issues always happen to me when I have WARP enabled, not sure why Roblox hates it unless it’s related to that update where Roblox made multiple network ports unavailable including VPN ones

Unfortunately the log files don’t seem to provide any clear answer, the last thing it does before crashing is try to load plugins. Thank you though!

Unfortunately I don’t use warp  thanks though!

Have you tried re-installing ROBLOX Studio? That may be the cause.

Unfortunately I’ve done that, as well as wiped the cache to see if that fixes it - still nothing  thank you though

I had this issue before. How I fixed it was check to make sure that all my drivers were downloaded. I believe this is where you would get your drivers for your computer: https://www.dell.com/support/home/en-us/product-support/product/alienware-aurora-r5-desktop/drivers

Will give that a shot tomorrow! Thanks!

Unfortunately, that didn’t fix it either  thank you though - I did apparently need some drivers installed so I’m sure that saved me future frustration.

Hi, just following up on some older reports? Are you still experiencing this issue on newer versions of Studio?
