Alcohol in relation to cooking

Just a quick question, Im 99% certain the answer is no. but might as well check.

Are we allowed to use alcohol, in my case, red wine in relation to cooking on roblox?

And a side question,

are we allowed to use wine bottles so long as it does not state ‘wine’ anywhere?

Check the ToS and see if it’s against that

It does state no alcohol, hence why I assumed it was banned. However due to my use case I was interested since I cant see how it would cause harm when its basically being used in the same circumstance as an oil.

Dangerous, unethical and illegal activities. Not only do we not allow these activities, we do not allow anyone discussing them or encouraging others to discuss (or take) such actions, including:

  • Hacking, phishing, flaming, exploits, cheating, spam, deceptive practices, scams;
  • Misleading, sexual or racy thumbnails or other images, videos or text;
  • Gambling with Robux or real money;
  • Terrorism, Nazism or Neo Nazism, organized criminal activity, gangs and gang violence;
  • Instructions for engaging in violent activities, including bomb- or weapon-making
  • Criminal activity;
  • Illegal drugs or prescription drugs without a prescription;
  • The use or sale of drugs, alcohol, or tobacco by minors; and
  • Blackmail or extortion.

Short answer: No, it’s not allowed

Actually it discriminates against the ‘Use or sale’ if I were to bend the meaning of ‘Use’ then technically this should be allowed?

Well, the use of alcohol is considered Unethical, no matter the use.

How is using alcohol in cooking unethical? xD.

Given unethical is defined as not morally correct.

Alcoholism is Unethical, I meant to say the Alcohol itself is Dangerous, and dangerous things are against the ToS

I know games that have been placed under review or deleted by Roblox for containing alcohol-related things or items that hint towards it / are supposed to look like it. This is against ToS as it is not a good thing to be promoting on the platform. I recommend you keep any remarks to / items relating to alcohol out of your game, and think of an alternative.

I feel teaching kids to cook should surely go with the platform’s motives however?

I think many people would enjoy a game which is based around cooking things, though in my opinion promoting alcohol or things related to it is not the way to go about it.

Alcohol isn’t required in many dishes that use it, so you can find an alternative.

And used in a cooking sense or not, it’s still alcohol. Most likely against the ToS.

Honestly though I would stay away from Alcohol and just replace it with some type of Fruit Juice/Chicken stock. Because you usually can do this in real life if you don’t want to use White/Red wine.

Didn’t mean to reply to you sorry

What about in relation to the bottles? Bottles similar to alcohol can contain substances such as balsamic vinegar or olive oil.

(This is what other stuff I intend to use it for)

Just avoid anything that has to do with Alcohol, and replace it with something, S A F E

A regular bottle that looks like a wine bottle can be used.

A regular bottle does not suggest that it will contain wine. Especially with labels.

Add a label and you should be fine.

You could come up with something creative which acts like alcohol. (Cooking wise, don’t switch controls on player after consumtion) In any case you should be fine as long as you associate a proper name with the ingredient or bottle being used.

Think a cool substitute would be cactus juice… think it’d be fun to flambé with cactus juice.

We are aiming for learn and explore sort, so everything needs to be factually accurate.

In the real world, yes, Alcohol is related to cooking, it’s used in many dishes such as Tequila Lime Shrimp, and even Mezcal Gazpacho Soup, heard of them a lot in cooking shows. :yum:

You can make a bottle of it, but maybe not mention the name “Alcohol” in the game, like Firewater or Fancy Juice. (Come up with better names than me, my suggestions LOL)

If you’re going to teach kids how to cook, you better mention the uses of “Alcohol” in it so kids later when they’re an adult and learn the uses of it, and perks. :eyes:

My answer: Yes, but don’t mention the name.

Non-alcoholic wine?
That conforms to their TOS
