All .png files mess up when uploaded as roblox decals

Jpg is unaffected and upload fine.

Here are some example images that got inverted/outlined/line-patterned when uploaded. I tried uploading newly created pngs, editing pngs, and old pngs downloaded from the internet a year ago.

Assets in screenshot:

Symptoms include:

  • Scanlines over image
  • Flipping of color between black/white
  • Cropping of images (half goes missing)
  • Transparent pixels become solid

Edit:
Adding color helps. Must be an issue with roblox’s new compressor change

Upload a png and if you can’t repro, I’ll link them

Except I already repro’d this 100% with someone else, forgot to mention tbh

Try taking a look at this thread. Others are having the same problem.

If you have Paint.net, try saving it with 24-bit depth and uploading it again.

Re-read the OP’s problem. It has nothing to do with dark outlines around images.

I thought so too until near the bottom of the thread, people started posting messed up pngs with very strange artefacts. So not the same symptoms, but more. It’s something the devs changed recently…

Edit: Oh you said the pixelfix thread. Sorry I looked at the other thread. Yea idk what pixelfix was linked for.
