"Allow Copying" layout in game creation window can easily lead to mistakes due to highlighted "Terms of Use" closeby

As a new or experienced developer, it is easy to make a mistake in the game creation window and accidentally enable Allow Copying, by misinterpreting it as a “Terms of Use” compliance checkbox.

I’m creating a few places at once so I’m going through this window quickly. I accidentally enabled this box because I skimmed and saw “Terms of Use” and instinctively checked it. Then I backpedalled and realised that Roblox has never asked to accept Terms of Use here before, and then I started reading the text better and realised this is the “Allow Copying” setting that I would not want to check.

Note also that the layout seems messed up altogether. It seems like the checkbox should go on a line of its own, and it should probably also be separated better from the other checkboxes. Perhaps a warning should be given as well when you try to toggle this option to true.

Roblox should change the layout of the text here and put less emphasis on “Terms of Use” to make this mistake easier to avoid. Currently the layout is confusing and could lead to mistakes especially for newer developers.

I think that this layout is important to address. The Allow Copying box is still terribly placed in the game settings window and I can’t count the number of times I’ve almost clicked it, despite knowing my way around Roblox Studio very well.

For new developers or those who skim over the box and happen to check it off, they leave their place at risk for being downloaded. At that point, Roblox can’t offer an appropriate response except to tell the developer to take better care of their permissions. That’s not possible when this box can easily be confused for a compliance checkbox.

The instruction text beside Allow Copying is not sufficient enough to catch a developer’s attention. It may say do not check this box and some developers may read that, but still be confused by thinking of something contradictory:

It says do not check this box to disallow copying, but it’s beside the Terms of Use link. Shouldn’t I check it to comply? Shouldn’t there be two checkboxes? Which one is this for?

In addition to this, developers who know their way around Roblox Studio, such as myself, want to waste little time editing configurations. I know my way around Studio settings so I handle everything really quickly. Thus, I skim over text and may accidentally check this off. My work is now left vulnerable and it’s completely fair play because any now-obtained copies of my work are not taken illegitimately.
