Allowing Bone/skinned mesh Data on accessories with limitations to prevent misuses

Recently, a feature which gave users the ability to upload accessories with weight paint data was enabled. However, this feature was quickly disabled due to several bad faith UGC creators abusing this issue. Although disabled, I believe a feature like this could have a much greater purpose.

Currently, Roblox heavily enforces a no make-up/tattoo policy on Dynamic Heads, which gives creators very little freedom when it comes to making Dynamic Heads. Additionally, uploading accessories like tattoos/makeup separately from a Dynamic Head is still an issue since the accessories don’t follow the face data and the dynamic head facial expressions, causing weird clipping during certain animations. However, allowing players to add Weight paint data onto their accessories could allow much more creative freedom while following the TOS.

Unfortunately, when it comes to most features on Roblox’s, bad faith users will always exist. However, a good way to prevent bad faith user from exploiting this feature would be to block any external weightpaint data that doesn’t reside within the “Dynamic Head” bone. Another solution would be to lock this feature to face accessories and restrict upload access if the face accessories surpasses bounds. If a bound limit for weight painted accessories were implemented, accessories like these bad faith accessories wouldn’t be possible.
