As a user of this forum it’s hard to publish examples of images if their inside of the “WebP” format, which Roblox, and a multitude of other websites use as default image formats, and it would help greatly if this format was allowed without having to constantly convert images as it’s a major inconvenience.

Really late bump but Roblox should actually support WebP. It’s beneficial for the forum and games. Helps both load much faster. Nowadays many modern sites use WebP.

i’m pretty sure for games they just convert to png behind the scenes
I don’t think they should, due to for what I am aware, WebP does not have transparent backgrounds… So, it would make images worse

GPUs don’t know what is a png or WebP. They convert it to something the GPU can read when rendering. If Roblox games loaded textures as WebPs, it would load things faster but not give any performance gains.

Not sure if anyone else has said this but, just use a simple WEBP to PNG converter online, there’s a multitude of free ones you can use. But in terms of saving time, it would be cool to upload WEBP images.
