Hey everyone!
Tonight was an amazing night for development for XGetRect9X and I. Whilst he was enjoying the new Bee Swarm Simulator update, I was desperately working on a way to contact people in game. I’d tried tons of methods that I could dream up, and somehow, I failed EVERY TIME!
Tonight felt good, though. A good day at school, a good afternoon, and a great evening for XGetRect9X had me thinking - maybe I could do some stuff tonight and get really lucky?
I made the advancement into my script by copying and pasting (I know it’s bad, but hear me out) a script from @colbert2677 into a brand new script. From there, I made some major edits to the original, to make it more suitable for Alone’s systems.
Since I made those edits, it made the script incompatible with the LocalScript object placed inside of a standard ScreenGui (the things you see on your screen. i.e. Buttons). I re-scripted a part of our new script to make it compatible with both our system and my LocalScript. I tested it out, and, surprisingly, the message WOULD NOT change! I made some observations and - BINGO! I was placing the message first, as the identification number of the message, and then the message’s ID as the message itself.
After editing that, it worked! I ran around the house in happiness - I had FINALLY figured out my feature which I could only wish to have in my game a month ago.
Thanks to you guys, we’ve stayed motivated to work on this project, and we’re considering releasing a demo soon! This isn’t confirmed, nor do we know when, but I’d just like to throw that out there.
Thanks for reading everyone!
