"Always open these links associated with this app" not working when launching Client & Studio

  • This occurs http://prntscr.com/hkd98w, I would expect after selecting the remember option to never see the box again.

  • This happens every time I open client and studio on my new computer. Has never happened on my old computer or other computers I’ve used.

  • All Roblox levels. Client & Studio

  • Screenshot above

  • GTX 1080, prob don’t need that info. My last computer only had a CPU.

  • Since I got my new laptop, yesterday.

  • This seems to be an issue with Chrome but I’ve concluded that Roblox may be making some form of request to Chrome to shut it up. If it’s an issue for you guys, here ya go, if not, how can I stop this from showing up, even after selecting “Always open these links associated with this app.”

Unable to reproduce. I’m not sure I’ve ever experienced this before, so I am unable to give any help.

Sorry :frowning:

I’ve had this but it went away after six weeks.

Family is over for the holidays and it’s occuring on their computer too.

Same here, looks like a chrome update bug

I think this is the fix?:

  1. Close chrome

  2. Go to here in your file explorer: (and open in notepad or something)
    C:\Users%username%\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\Preferences

  3. Add “roblox”:false between the curly brackets as shown

"protocol_handler":{"excluded_schemes":{"roblox":false}},

(make it look like this)

Happening to me 100% of the time. I’m using Chrome V63.0.3239.132

When I checked that version value, Chrome wanted to give me an update. I’ll edit after I update.

Edit: This was fixed when I updated Chrome. To do so, go to chrome://settings/help and it will tell you if you need an update.

Unfortunately, I tried this and it personally didn’t work. I’m also up to date on the latest chrome update. Quite annoying

weird. my version is Version 64.0.3282.119 (Official Build) and it’s not popping up anymore
possibly try a beta update?

FYI: This was a Chrome bug. It affected all protocol handler links, so not just Roblox, and was only happening if you have not launched Roblox & checked “remember” checkbox on an earlier version of Chrome.

Google fixed it in Chrome v64; go to Help -> About Google Chrome to get it.

For some reason, restarting my PC fixed it :man_shrugging:

To confirm, updating Chrome did fix my issue, if you are having this issue, update Chrome.
