Am I allowed to make a game where you can kill civilans / commit war crimes?

Hello! I am making an fps game similar to CS:GO / Arsenal where the players can become soviet soldiers or american soldiers.
If the player chooses to be a soviet soldier, his task will be to destroy everything he sees, kill all civilans and invade America. While Americans have to protect their country and rescue civilans.
Can I get banned because the soviet soldiers are meant to execute and massacre civilans, commit arson, etc… ?

Thanks!

Ps: the game is not connected in any way to what is happening right now, the game will take place in an alternate world where the soviet decided to invade the entire world during the 1950s / 60s / 70s / 80s / 90s / futuristic America (Mostly during the cold war).

Hello! From what I know today, It doesn’t really matter because I’ve seen games that had similar idea’s or even worse so you should be pretty much fine with that.

That’s a war crime, so no, that’s not allowed.

I have seen games like this before, you should be fine. The only games that get banned are condo games (sometimes not always, sadly some of those games stay up for years and its disgusting) and games that have malicious code that goes after personal identifiers (only if its reported), and games that display things like self harm or suicide.

Games with excessive gore do exist on Roblox and are liked, although most have options to disable the gore. Arson and executions and civilian murder are allowed, infact Entry Point has all of the things and it was a Bloxy nominee.

I don’t think the soviet union does that. Either way, I don’t think this type of game is allowed.

Kind of falls under Threats of Violence, Violent Content and Gore, Terrorism and Violent Extremism Content in the roblox terms of service.

It’s not exactly allowed. What you can do is arm the civilians. But they won’t shoot. That way it’s “defending the motherland”.

tell me you don’t know much about the cold war without telling me you don’t know much about the cold war

As long as it’s not too violent or political, it should be fine AFAIK. Maybe instead of literal war crimes, you could make it about capturing territory or defending a missile launch complex.

Closest example of this idea on a game would be BRM5, but instead of the bad guys being a baddie, you play as the goodies doing the good.

It seems like a genuinely good idea however try to make it less violent and politicized, maybe make a fictional factions. and at least try to make it fit under Roblox TOS.

This is a very tight line you’re trying to cross. If you’re trying to create a game like this similar to our world you’re attempting to say that there’s people that act like this in the real world.

Check the terms of Service/Use to see if this type of game is allowed. I personally don’t agree because its going to be political and that is usually not allowed on roblox.

What I found when checking the ROBLOX ToS

Violent Content and Gore
Although some experiences on Roblox may include weapons and violence, we don’t allow content that contains extreme violence or serious physical or psychological abuse, including:

  • Animal abuse and torture
  • Realistic depictions of extreme Gore
  • The depiction, support, or glorification of war crimes or human rights violations, including torture

Political Content
We value friendly debate about issues and topics that matter to Robloxians. However, to maintain a civil and respectful environment, we prohibit the discussion or depiction of:

  • Current candidates running for public office, including their slogans, campaign material, rallies, or events
  • Political parties, including official party-affiliated organization
  • Specific races for elected office
  • Sitting real-world elected officials
  • Previously-elected officials in their official capacity
  • Individuals who have previously run for political office in their capacity as candidates
  • Desecration of political entity symbols, including flag burning
  • Inflammatory content related to real world border, territorial, or jurisdictional relationships

I am not gonna risk it, plus I don’t wanna make a game that is against the ToS

Even if lot of games don’t get banned:

e,g:

the first one has 305 likes…

It isn’t a reason to make a game that is against the ToS
I have other game ideas, so I think I will make a new game. Like a showcase game.

as frenzyy said,

so if you want to get a FREE ACCOUNT BAN, along with the loss of progress in all games you have played before in roblox, then go ahead. don’t say we didnt warn you.

(wrong reply goes brrrr)

I am not going to risk it. I have plenty other game ideas, it was only one of them, others shouldn’t be against roblox’s ToS.
