I don’t know where to post this so please correct me if I posted this in the wrong category.
So recently, a member of my discord server, got banned for a few days. He bought a few gamepasses before, so he asked for a refund, and I replied with a no. Now, he says its a scam, because I did not tell him that there was no refunds beforehand. The thing is that he didn’t even ask me if he could get a refund when he bought the gamepasses.
Am I wrong for not giving him a refund? I know some games give refunds, but its sorta on them for buying a gamepass, and getting banned from the discord server due to their misbehaviour.
Roblox does not require developers to give refunds, they put that weight on the developer’s themselves. Some games therefore don’t do anything about it, some games have player support systems in place. It’s up to you and how you want to run your game community.
Personally, if someone is banned from my group’s discord they are not owed a refund in my book, because the discord is an added privilege to the extended game community.
If someone can prove that something went wrong with their purchase, it was granted, but something failed due to bad / poorly written code, I am more than happy to refund. Recently just found and fixed a problem with purchasing discounted gamepasses (via developer products) in my game. Completely my fault, but it is now fixed, and I haven’t heard of any refunds wanted since.
NEVER give refunds unless your gamepass gave no benefits/didn’t work. If it works, they bought it and it’s on them. There are 2 buttons that show up before you buy a gamepass so it wasn’t a scam. that dude knew that we bought the gamepass.
Game passes come with an already determined “No Refund” policy don’t they? Isn’t it general knowledge that you won’t receive a refund for purchasing something unless there’s faulty code or something broken?
There is a reason why robux spent on group games go into status and that is so that if a player wants to get a refund on a product they can go to roblox support and ask em for it
You should NOT give refunds, as there is no way to right now. Giving a refund will just put you in debt. If they are buying a gamepass from your game, and request a refund for the full amount they paid, the amount has already been taxed, and you will be giving your own funds as well to make up for it.
As @TheRealGamingZone said,
,they shouldn’t have bought the gamepass, if they are just going to ask for a refund later.
If you want to warn them however, you can put a little note on the gamepass description that says something like, “No refunds, all purchases are final.”
