Ampersands (&) in object names causes the following character to be underlined in the 'Properties' window

Explanation

The ‘Properties’ panel in Roblox Studio displays the name and the type of the currently selected object in the title section of the panel.

However, I noticed an odd occurance: when the object has an ampersand (&) in the name, the character after the ampersand becomes underlined, with the ampersand not being visible. This results in the displayed name being incorrect (missing a character).

No ampersand:

One ampersand (at start):

One ampersand (at middle):

One ampersand (at end):

Two consecutive ampersands:

Oddly, it displays the second ampersand, but not the first, and also doesn’t underline the second ampersand, as if it is behaving instead as an escape charater.

Reproduction

  1. Include an ampersand in an object’s name
  2. Select the object in explorer
  3. Observe the title of the Properties panel, noting the underlined characters.
