An Officer's Duty 2 Alpha Update Information

Development Information:

An Officer’s Duty is a game based upon law enforcement and focusing on the different jobs that line of career provides and more.

As we began our first AOD project a few years ago, we were unable to support the game in sponsoring and came across several bugs and map size issues with how the first game was designed. Since then, we have learned from our mistakes and have plowed into the development of a second game completely reprogrammed and redesigned with much more added features and will support Roblox’s latest feature releases.

This game is in very early alpha as of right now and will be for a while as we slowly push out updates however, the public version of this alpha game is open for early paid access for anyone curious. Please see below for information on currently released updates. This post will be updated as we push changes to the game out.

Updates:

Released on Sept,24th/2019

  • Accessories and charcters disable when entiring vehicles.
  • Street lights can be ran over.
  • Players can work at the cafe and serve NPC’s (not connected to stats yet).
  • Properties for the streetlights have been fixed.
  • Purchase food at the cafe to boost health.
  • Camaro (this is temporarily placed outside the PD and used for testing).

  • Automatic chat box messages.
  • Overhead name tags.
  • Chat box name tags.
  • Tree’s almost fully replaced with realistic ones.
  • Running shadow map lighting technology.
  • PD interior completely redesigned.
  • Mall interior completely redesigned.
  • Map extensions.
  • Teleportation pads that entire you into the game spawn you to a random location to avoid the chances of spawn arresting.
  • Earn a badge when you join the game for the first time.

Released on Feb,1st/2020

  • Brand new map (still in progress in areas). Map contains a mix of smooth terrain and part terrain.
  • Buildings all remodeled into meshes for a profession look and smoother performance (The mall has been replaced with a small strip mall).
  • Cafe and weapons shop interiors have been remade however teleportation pads that teleport you inside buildings have been temperately disabled.
  • Brand new tree meshes and textures (oak, red maple, and green maple).
  • New updated lighting.
  • Bug fixes to the street lights, cafe customers and other features.
  • Game passes aren’t hooked up yet in this game however game passes such as the smoke bombs and chief team will not be worked into a game pass as they are in AOD 1. In AOD 2 they will be completely free.
  • Sprint feature has been moved over to this game now. You can trigger this with the shift key.
  • Player animations have also been moved over. You can trigger these with the J, H, K, and L hot keys.
  • Teams have been moved over into this game however team change is not accessible yet.

Released on March,8/2021

  • Tune update for the vehicle (spawner currently broken. Vehicle parked outside of volcano for testing)
  • Custom database is up and running
  • About 35% of the map overhaul complete.
  • Spawn randomization feature is in so players spawn to random locations throughout the map when joining the game. This should help minimize spawn arresting and spawn killing.
  • A bunch of background frame work for upcoming features.
  • Clock as been switched to 12 hour mode instead of 24 hour.
  • Force field bug has been solved.
  • Some older models have been completely remodeled in Blender.
  • Train tracks have began going in (functional train to come in the near future).
  • Streetlight ramming has been fixed so they’re easier to knock over when running into them.
  • Alpha badge framework as been moved into the lobby place so you no longer need to join the actual game to collect it (future features are planned to be hooked to the badge as a reward. Same with a beta badge when that time comes).
  • Some mini features have been added such as a way to change your mouse cursor design.
  • Artwork from my sisters have been added to different locations around the map.

  • Server ID and server age display. Server ID can be copied using crtl + C. This will be used for requesting moderation in the future.
  • Clock bug fixed.
  • Vehicle spawner has been fixed. You can now spawn the vehicle to your location.
  • Working vehicle lights (except for headlights which are coming).
  • Programming framework for the train done by Kuas. Train model coming soon however, the test model is fully functional.
  • Version 1 custom boat chassis from Avxntador is complete and at the beach free to test out!

  • Map expansion work (working on the new prison area)
  • Donuts! Players can now find and collect donuts that spawn around them. Badges for this coming soon.

  • More database framework.
  • Map improvements and expansions.
  • Donut bug fixed.
  • Weather! The game will now transition from sunny to stormy as well as snow!
  • Tolls for the hospital and other parking lots.
  • Bug fix for the music pod game pass.
  • Donation feature to help support the game.
  • Improved framework for the notification UI.
  • Improved framework for the vehicle spawning feature. Now hooks to the other vehicle type spawners so it’ll delete your previous vehicle when spawning a new one no matter the vehicle type (car, boat, heli…).
  • Boat spawners now work.

Released November, 3rd/2021

  • Players may now enter the hospital (heath regeneration still to come).
  • Old city has been ripped out and replaced with a massive section of map to explore. Though the map is already massive, there is still tons of new region areas to come.
  • New UI design.
  • Background framework for the up and coming bag shop.
  • Randomized spawning system is in to allow players to spawn into the game at a random location to prevent spawn killing.
  • Emojis are fixed and up and running.

We’re still working on moving all the current features from AOD 1 into AOD 2 as everything is rewritten and debugged. This includes the main UIs. Please don’t expect this game to be playable at this time.
