Finally! This is great news. Thank you.
You fixed the wording and released it. This is so epic. Thank you team!
TOS update for this?
Pretty sure it states no exceptions there.
Crazy idea but making this a per place setting allowing all players to enter an experience with modified clients would be pretty awesome. An official way to make playgrounds and āmoddingā capable experiences. Something Iām sure a lot of people would love to see
Could there be an input bar that would work similar to modified clients so anyone can test their anti cheats without having to risk installing malicious third party softwares
Can this reflect in the TOS? This would be fantastic for us to test internally.
Why not make it an option in the gameās roles? It would allow a specific group (ex. Testers or āWhitehatsā) to test the anti-cheat system using the black-box method without getting moderated by Roblox.
This is huge!
Canāt wait for all devs to get a virus by downloading shady software to test their game
Sorry, but Iād rather the platform be free of exploiters than being able to edit the oof sound.
So Roblox drops a banger and then leaves us for the weekend.
Amazing and completely unexpected.
Can we expect to see a Roblox-developed tool that we can use to safely test our client environments, securely and binded to the account and experience, rather than the current 3rd-party alternatives?
FINALLY! I canāt believe this day has come. I waited so long for thisāwords canāt describe it. I had to use plugins that allowed me to call and invoke functions from the client. That really made my life easier. ![]()
This is huge for many reasons! I can finally feel like c00lkidd in my own games.
However, please update the TOS to reflect this decision. It only makes sense and would help with eliminating confusion and helping appeals against false bans and such. Until this is done, I donāt recommend exploiting in your own games.
Additionally, please provide a way to āwhitelistā certain users to exploit in your game. These could be anticheat testers or something. Said users would need to know they have those permissions so developers donāt trick people into getting banned. How? A developer could say someone has permission to exploit in their game, but with no way to verify, and if the developer lied, thatās sufficient grounds for a Roblox ban.
well, i guess imma just find my door towards the engine features topic.
if people only focus on security and invulnerablity, then i got nothing to do here.
and this always has been a debate on whether i need more security or more performance.
although, people should know that exploiters will find a way, as i mentioned previously!
so, roblox might have a success in security with this, but they wont benefit from it as much as from engine optimization.
this is where i end it here.
This, no way I want to risk getting hacked by the exploit devs. (Nor do I want to pay for them)
Finally able to test out anti-cheat systems without worrying about getting terminated⦠Thank you for this update!
Would using Sober count as using a modified client?
kinda, but its not an exploit tool so you may assume that youre safe with using it
Thank you so much Roblox. I got banned for 1 day before the announcement of this update after injecting into my own experience. Itās amazing to see that Roblox is taking the developers needs seriously ![]()
I understand your concern for us. I am not sure what happened but somehow a useful reply I made on here vanished to where I canāt see it. It said something along the lines of calling upon Bitdancer for the idea of creating an official custom Roblox executor built for developers who want to improve their anti cheat on Roblox and obviously it would only work in your own places just like this update. It would make it much safer for us to have Roblox create an executor for all of us to use in our own place. Maybe for Studio as well as I think a Studio executor could also be very helpful. I hope they listen to my ideas ![]()
