Editing tabs is very cumbersomeâyou can only move them left or right, and the features are extremely limited.
I think this lacks customization. There should be an additional editing page with more editing functions and effects, such as:
Drag to adjust positions directly
Multiple folding options
Checkboxes
Numeric input
Icon replacement
One-click activation of multiple functions
4x4 2x1 1x2 layout
Automatically switch to the corresponding tab or change some buttons to others when selecting models, UIs, scripts, the Explorer window, the Properties window, etc.
Even higher customization: support for scripting to fully customize the effects of any windows, tools, or anything elseâfull Studio customization. This way, plugins can also achieve functions that fully align with their operations, or have plugin-specific tabs and special window effects.
Currently, Iâve found that the View Selector wonât open. The Wind Direction feature can be launched but doesnât work properly, and the Localization Tool also fails to open. Thatâs not allâmany things are malfunctioning.
My issue is with the new UI is that the text cursor blinks too fast. It doesnât match the systemâs text cursor blink speed. Sadly, even the new explorer still has that issue too.
When the improved tab editor rolls out, will we be able to make anything ranging from just buttons of different sizes to⌠idk⌠checkboxes, splitbuttons, custom rows, etc?
Ive made the thing above using the plugin made by TenebrisNoctua
I am also really curious if we are gonna be able to make rows like the one above, with multiple ârowsâ inside the ârowâ. I know this is possible with json editing but i couldnt make that. (The image above was edited to show 2 different rows of tools)
Iâm a picky eater with UI. I could recall the play button already having the dropdown to change playtest modes (server run, test, test here, etc.) but it was all moved over to another dropdown which takes up a bit more space.
I can take a guess that this change was made due to the really tiny dropdown arrow we had before, but now that we have the more recent dedicated dropdown button which is off to the side, I donât think it would be much of an issue anymore.
It just doesnât look as nice in comparison to what the old non-next gen studio had previously. Plus this one doesnât indicate that the Play and Run buttons have shortcuts (F5 and F8), which is pretty nice for newcomers in my opinion.
Also I noticed that the Play button was migrated to be outside of the Home tab. Iâll assume that itâs because itâs at the top now, but even the old studio UI had the same thing. A Play button on the ribbon, and on the Home tab.
Pretty sure itâs done this way in the new UI because some of the modes have additional options (Server & Clients, for example, has the player count input)
asides from that anyone who has half a working brain would, if making a mistake, press ctrl + z, its really not that hard to understand
pretty sure its covered in roblox studio tutorials too. and if an 8 year old makes a mistake and has no idea that keybind exists, then like, they shouldnt be developing
then thats their problems, not robloxâs. like i said, if an 8 year old makes a mistake and has no idea that keybind exists, they shouldnt be developing
âŚYou know that theyâre still taking feedback on the new UI, right? Even if theyâre misinterpreting the feedback theyâre getting, theyâre still actively taking it in. So your statements are pointless, and I donât really care what your opinion is on it. Thatâs a you problem, not me.
