Ancient Temple Map Showcase

Hi, it’s Hop! My last post was an unfinished version of the ancient temple I made, and now it’s done! Before you hop into the game, or if you don’t want to, here are some images of the map.

Summary


DETAILS: This map was inspired by my friend’s interest in fantasy and purple, I tried to create a map in which you feel as though you’re walking through a dream, a mirage, in which everything is crystalline, dark, structured, and ominous. This map was created in two days.

INSTRUCTIONS: Upon entering the game, please do the following:

  1. Turn up your volume, music is playing (I believe it goes rather well as it complements with the colors)
  2. Turn up graphics (Still cool without it)
  3. Explore the next room by clicking the door
  4. Like and favorite :slight_smile: - Just to appreciate my build and so I can create more in the future!

one thing you could do is make the players speed about 10 so it is easier to walk around in the small space but I tried it out and I thought it looked really cool :+1:

The detail is very impressive, no doubt about that. But, the lighting could do a bit more. You could do some sort of outline or hanging vines that help illuminate the area. As it is hard to see the true beauty of your work. Other than that, amazing work! :grinning:

I’d recommend you work on making the teleport process (when you click on the doors) more fluid. This could be achieved by calculating the distance between the user and the closed doors, then teleport based on that delta to the ‘open’ doors.

Honestly, I am so confused with scripting. What I did was make an invisible part and named it “Door”, whilst putting a ClickDetector, which has a script input inside. I used a certain code, so when you click, it just happens. I am not sure on how to make it a better transition, unfortunately. If I do find a way, I will try. Thank you.

You’re right! I’ve asked many people about the lighting, and they said it seems dark, so I should probably make the place brighter! And making the vines bioluminescent is really clever! I will definitely try to corporate that.

Really loving what you’ve done here, especially with the attention to detail on these beautiful doors!

I don’t really have much areas of improvements to give, this is awesome! Maybe you could implement some blur which fades in & out?

Wow! You read my mind! I literally thought that before you commented this. Also, yes, I did pay attention to detail, but I feel like that’s mainly due to the crystalline structures I embedded. Without them, everything would just be slate with no other color whatsoever. Thank you for playing and commenting.

that was aboslutely great. one thing i would do is to click on the open doors, it would slide open yk? it might be hard but yeah, that would make it look great. :smiley:

Showcase looks amazing! Good work!

Its really well made, I just think there should be something in the dark sides, floating rocks, a pillar with a statue on it, just something else with the purple light
