Should I use some animated lava or the default roblox terrain lava?

Personally, I think the animated lava makes is better. With the animated lava, the animation looks very smooth on it, and the color scheme just matches the basalt better. It sticks out to also be more aesthetically pleasing. With the default Roblox lava, it’s a dark red, with no motion, & has the dark specks in it. The shade of red doesn’t really match with the basalt as much. Additionally, the animated lava, I assume, would be much more easy to customize for interactions and effects.

Personally, I’d say the animated lava, because it looks so much more realistic, and having more of a bright-orange color scheme for lava is great.

You can change the colour of terrain materials, try changing the colour of the terrain lava if you get the chance. For now the animated lava looks better though.

I suggest to use the animated lava, the animation for the lava looks very smooth and satisfying. The animated lava will bring detail and make the map look more alive. I wish you well on your map!

I agree, the animated lava makes a big difference in the detail of the game. The animation looks very smooth in the preview so it would definitely make it a lot more detailed.

It is more efficient when you get a choice of something which just sits there, like the terrain or something that could move and be more symbolic over the fact that it is moving and it is lava.

Yeah 100 percent would make it more efficient! -and to be honest the lava model doesn’t really look to appealing to me.

For me the animated lava does look better but from afar. It has more properties of water rather than lava. Maybe it’s just me.

Animated lava for sure, it gives it an “alive” feeling that makes the overall look a lot better than normal lava. I believe Roblox’s normal terrain lava should be animated anyways.

The animated lava looks tacky to me, to be honest. Especially because it doesn’t match.I’d just do normal lava, and add a surface light.

overall, I’d prefer animated lava because it has a lot more realism than roblox’s lava.
