Animated PBR Materials?

Hello,

Is there any efficient way of having custom animated PBR Materials? One example of an animated material is the water terrain’s material, constantly updating and properly reflecting the light.

When I tried to make “animated” PBR materials, (using material variants and constantly switching asset Ids), my result turned out pretty nice looking, however it was making my client very laggy and sometimes the asset Id change turned out pretty choppy.

Instead of constantly switching assets for the PBR material, instead have the parts with the assets move around.

(for example the grass when you enable “Decoration” on terrain)
