Animation Editor Overwrite Is Completely Broken

[Animation version changes a single minute after?]
Bug Example: I place events on an animation that indicates a hand swinging forward - but when it’s loaded inside the animation editor (and also via script too), it shows instead a completely irrelevant animation, for example, a flinch backwards.

This is extremely problematic to work with.

Update: This incorrect replacement seems to happen when there are too many animations inside ServerStorage.RBXANIMSAVES (?)

The amount of bugs with animation editor is insane, I’ve been experiencing this problem since January and it is still happening.

And yes, I feel like your hypothesis is correct, there is another, yes another, bug with the animation editor where you are unable to publish unless you delete RBXANIMSAVES

One of the most INFURIATING bugs in a while, please fix!!!

Oh, yes, this bug happens to me as well. From time to time, whenever I try to publish any animation, it just flashes “Saved AnimName” instead of actually pulling out the publish window.

Today this bug happened to me again. It incorrectly overwrote an animation.

Bumping this topic. Bug is still occuring as of today.

Hi there, thanks for your report.

We are aware of this issue and a fix in on the way.

We have noticed that the issue is caused by duplicate animation instances created in the ServerStorage.RBX_ANIMSAVES.[RigName] folder as described in this tread.

As a workaround, to make sure that the correct animation is published, you should delete those duplicate animations. The ACE will save the new animation in that folder again before publishing it.

Hope this helps!

Yeah, deleting the anim instances seems to be the only “workaround” with this bug. Thanks for commenting under my report!

Hi there!

We believe this bug was fixed a while ago, but unfortunately we did not respond to this thread when the fix went live.

Unless you still have issues with overwriting animations, we’ll now close this ticket.

Cheers!
