Animation editor permanently snaps parts to new position when it worked fine before

I have this animation made using a non-humanoid rig for a game I’m making, and I’ve made sure it functioned correctly as seen in the video below:

However, when I’ve recently gone to edit the animation keyframes to change how it works, the whole model now snaps downwards and permanently affects its position after closing the animation editor

I don’t know why this is happening and I would like to know how to stop it or work around it to remake the animation to not cause this?
