Animation Help with switching Motor6D

So a question for animating in general using motor6D ill try my best to illistrate my point using this drawing.

so lets say i want to animate this guy with a sword, firstly when he is not using it, the motor6D is attached to his RootPart, but whenever he is equipped it, its attached to his right or left hand whichever.

Is this a “correct” way to do it, or should i just animate the sword while its attached to his root part because it’d be hard to animate firstly with his rootpart and then switch mid animation to his arm.

and if this isnt the “correct” way to do it, could you please suggest anything to help with this?

Thanks, sore.

Hi, not sure how you’re getting on with this, but I animated a player walking up to, and climbing onto, a horse and sitting ready to ride.

All the connection/controls are done via motor6d.

You might want to check out the “How to make a mount system” by Roblox Lord on YouTube, because that’s where I figured out how to do it and I know NOTHING about scripting or animating.

Hope that helps.

Im actually using this system for a bow weapon, and usually the bow would just chill on the characters back until i equip it which then holds the bow in the characters hand, now the motor6d would be different when its on the back or in the hand right? or do i just animate it using the hrp m6d?

I would leave the m6d as-is, and animate from there. As long as it’s rigged up properly you’ll be able to move the bow around to wherever you want.
