Animations not playing for me, but for everyone else

I am in a group game and we have made some custom animations, but they don’t play for me.

I seem to be having the opposite issue of this guy Animation works in studio yet not in game? - #16 by FerbZides but the solution for him does not work for me.

The animations were made by another group member and are owned by the group. They play for the two other members of my group but not for me.

Putting the play animation into a pcall results in a “success” but the animation still does not play.

This error comes up, it is always the same, only the asset id changes:

I don’t understand what is going on because the animations play in the game, but not in studio, and I have not been able to find anyone with the same issue. I wonder if there is some sort of setting or something similar that prevents any animation from playing?
Thanks in advance.

That error shows that the asset doesn’t have a permission to exist in this experience/place.

If you made the animation, when publishing an asset, you should select the group as a creator of this asset.

If the animation isn’t yours, then the creator should grant access to the experience/place.

Hope this helps!

I see the animations owned by the group. When viewing the animations development items from the group, they are there. They are not there when I view as my own player.

Is there something specific that the group leader needs to do to make the animations play?

I’m not the best at this stuff. I’m pretty sure the group owner has to publish the animations under their name.

Hmm, well I found this thread Animations not working on a group game - #9 by melwin89 for something similar, but from the group owner’s perspective. It ends just saying it is a problem with team create. Is there no way to solve this problem?

Try to reinstall the studio or try to see if there are problems according to Team Create as you said. Although it’s one of the most strange bugs, I think you’ll find the solution soon! :hidere:
