Announcing the Bug Report Wizard Beta

This is very nice, even nicer that it is wip dark mode lol

This is a nice feature, and I hope it gets released to Members soon!

I’m just waiting so I can fix my heavily wounded studio.

This looks really nice, too bad 70% of the devforum cant use it…

Seriously, we need a way to become a Regular, or at least use the wizard as a Member

Really enjoying the wizard! I encounter many bugs often in Studio, so this definitely makes the workflow of bug report creation more enjoyable, faster, and easier to understand without having to constantly refer back to a guideline page for each report you make to make sure that you did it correctly.

For the first bug reports I have made with this tool, I have noticed a couple of minor issues.

  • For the two bug reports I’ve filed today, the time in minutes seems to be inaccurate. I’m sure I didn’t put HH:02:00 on both of the reports so it seems like it automatically gets replaced with HH:02:SS.

  • Under the ‘What do you expect to happen?’ and ‘What actually happens?’ sections, the first sentence is followed by a question mark instead of a period.

Additionally, it would be nice if these few questions would have their own section right under the category ‘What type of issue are you experiencing?’ at the top. This would mean that information like ‘System Information’ would only appear if you explicitly select either a Display or Performance issue.

I just accidentally reloaded the page for the bug report wizard, all my work is gone. Is there a draft? or is it gone?

If possible, I think there should be an explicit DevForum Website field for the first question; this option would redirects bug reports to #forum-feedback:forum-bugs.

One (aka me) can confuse https://devforum.roblox.com as the ‘Roblox Website’ because of their shared domain or ‘DevHub Website’ due to their similarity and accidentaly post to the wrong category.

One thing I’ve found strange is the order of the questions/info to give, right now it is:

  • Title
  • Repo
  • What do you expect to happen?
  • What actually happens?
  • Workaround
  • PM
  • Impact
  • Frequency
  • Date first
  • Date last

Impact, frequency, date first, and date last should be right after title as it’d follow the expected general to in-depth flow. Plus, it makes sense to make the dropdowns and textboxes together as opposed to scattering them in a seemingly random way.

Plus, with having repo before the description of the actual issue, it’s like working backwards, which is not ideal.

Here is my revised version (with additional changes apart from what I described above):

  • Title
  • Impact
  • Frequency
  • Date first
  • Date last
  • What actually happens?
  • What do you expect to happen?
  • Repo
  • PM

Ok, I guess I’m not allowed to write bug reports. :expressionless:

Roblox wouldn’t even let us post Bug Reports so I fixed Studio myself…

Anyway, it looks good. I wish one day I was a Regular, but that will never happen since I got suspended once.
