Hello! I am wondering if there are any good if not better software to render GFXs other than blender and Cinema 4D. Those seem to be the only ones people talk about. One of the good things about well know software is that there are more tutorials and templates to use.
Is there any reason in particular why you need something other than C4D or Blender? People talk about them because they’re good quality: there’s no need to reinvent the wheel.
However, if you do have reasons for wanting to find a different engine, there are a few. One I’ve heard of (although, I can’t confirm if its abilities are related to Roblox) is SketchUp which probably has similar capabilities.
I am mainly trying to look for software that is potentially better than c4d or blender.
You can try 3D Max.
I don’t know if it’s better or worse but I know that Blender and C4D are very good.
In my opinion C4D is more for animation
Youd could also try Cheetah. 30
I’ve never tried any of these, I just found an article about them.
- KeyShot
- Mental Ray
- Iray
- Maxwell Render
- Lumion
Give them a shot, let me know if any of them work out.
Octane Render would probably be a great choice.
Maya, 3ds max, and Houdini are all very powerful and well known in the industry. I don’t recommend any other program recommended in this thread as Blender, Houdini, cinema 4d, 3ds max, and Maya are the Kings of the rendering, simulation, and modeling scene. You’d be wasting your time if you try the smaller lesser known programs. Personally I’d recommend Maya or Houdini as they are both very powerful (especially Houdini at simulations, used by pretty much every mainstream vfx studio), currently I use Maya as my main driver.
Maya is basically, industry standard with industry standard rendering (I think)? Very costly though.
But if you’re talking about Roblox:
Cinema4D if you’re more into GFX/complicated/want some good results/got the money. Basically, if you’re planning to go full time/alot of time, then go with Cinema4D and try learning it to its full potential.
If you’re like me and just want decent looking GFXs/Roblox Renders with pretty good modeling/tutorials/help/addons/plugins, blender is the right job for all of those. UV editing, texturing, modeling, rendering, animation, its got it.
I mean, I’d say Blender is pretty good for Roblox already

3D Studio Max is what I use because it’s very high level and the features that it does have are the only ones that I use from blender. Granted, I use it a lot more for UE4 and Unity than Roblox, but it should serve it’s purpose. The GFX on the software is insane. I use a student subscription so i’m not paying for anything on my end as long as the projects that I work on are passion projects (not for commercial use)
All the programs I listed offer renewable student licenses for learning purposes.
No, Maya is better for animation. Cinema 4d is incredibly lacking in animation capabilities.
None of these are good except maxwell
