This is easily the most annoying and ugly thing I’ve ever experienced when I model and import trees to roblox…
Try setting the transparency to 0.01. It will allow the mesh to have transparent areas.
what exactly is the issue here ?
looks fine to me
The ends of the tree bark shouldn’t be seen from the outside, if ya look at the original model in blender it doesn’t have that issue but on Roblox it does for some reason.
That’s not the issue then, I would set the transparency back to 0. I was also thinking that the mesh its self might be good but the current lighting settings just make it look bad. Try tweaking some lighting settings and adding effects, it always improves my builds!
it seems to fade at a certain interval.
could it be possible to lower that interval ?
This is just a private place where I upload all my models to roblox and do experiments, not an actual showcase or anything.
The game I’m developing this for wants trees that aren’t blocky patches, they want stylized textures like trees seen in games like WOW, Fortnite and etc.
I succeeded in doing that but Roblox has these weird Z-Clipping errors with transparency textures that are so annoying. I just want to make the leaves not see through while having a texture that has Alpha on it.
If you have to then you could just remove all the polygons that are not supposed to be seen to solve that. This would require modifying the mesh in blender though.
That wouldn’t look right since these are gonna be pretty tall things that players are gonna see from below and, potentially, up above should we decide to add flying or increased jump height gear…
Not to mention that its not really a practical solution and would vastly reduce the quality of the tree.
Nevermind, it seems that I’ve found a way to fix it somewhat, even though it still looks… off. Conclusion? Transparent textures on Roblox sucks and Transparency Maps and other PBR maps need to come out yesterday!
i really like the shade of the tree, but i don’t know why you think its bad.
