Any objections to my design choice for my 3D HUD?

I’ve been working on a game recently and have made an applicable WAYWOC reply for the game itself, but I’m looking for more precise feedback on my interface.

Demo #1: Ammo & Health

Observe the lower left and right portions of my screen for this demo. So far I like everything, I may change the flash of the ammo HUD a bit when ammo is low and reduce the brightness of the red there when the player’s ammo is empty. Everything else I like. Mousing over the health area will display the name of the shield the user has equipped.

Demo #2: Attack Indicators / Wave Notifier (old)

These are located at the top of the screen and flash whenever a shield generator or the main core is being attacked by the enemies of the game. They are directional. The Wave Notifier is the UI that comes in from the side to display the wave spawn information. I plan to redo this, and I am open for suggestions on its style and how it presents spawn info.

Any changes you all think I should make? Color choices? Layout? Thanks.

I think that has to be the coolest GUI I have ever seen

Why doesn’t this have more likes? This is amazing, it’s like being in virtual reality but it’s roblox. It’s perfect, I also really like the shake effect on the ammo gui when your out of ammo. Great creation! :+1:

The ammo and health UI looks great, my only suggestion is reducing the scale of it all as it takes up alot of screen space.

The wave indicator seems pretty rough. I suggest to go for a more minimal approach, instead of a long banner across the length of the screen something more compact and out of the way. I quickly made this to show you how I personally would do it (disregard the other UI):

The white circles would be images to indicate the wave attributes and enemies

But I don’t suggest you to use this exact stylization, it doesn’t fit the theme of your game in my opinion.

The attack indicators are a cool idea and I think you should add some text on top of them reading something along the lines of “GENERATOR UNDER ATTACK”

Yeah that never made it past draft stage since I didn’t know how to make a good 3D element for it. I think I have an idea now. I think something centered in the screen that expands from the middle might be good. I really like the dots for the enemies, I’ll have to derive from that.

I could. I was thinking more along the lines of potential audio cues too like a lot of RTS games have. I’ll have to see what fits.

Thanks for the insight.

gonna be honest, i hate tilted ui, it absolutely disgusts me, and alot of people who already have problems reading text will have issues as well.
that being said i still like the way it looks overall
