Why 2 different fonts?
Also I feel there’s too much UIs on the screen.
I can’t decide which one fits more
It’s quite a technical game, I actually don’t even have all the buttons that I’d want, that’s why there’s an “additional settings” button at the top left.
Actually the bar on the right is a bit full, and it won’t always be, it’ll sometimes look like this:
And this:
Thanks for the feedback! :D
My main problem is the two different styles, on one side we have the additional settings area, with the tound edges and stuff (which I like much more), and then the other side with properties and stuff.
Your UI’s style should probably be consistent across your entire game.
Also I feel like the order of the buttons on the top should be:
- Select
- None
- Move
- Rotate
- Resize
other than that pretty cool! Nice work!
My only suggestion is to make the side GUIs as narrow as possible and move the white buttons to the very edges.
I like to have as much of the workspace visible on screen so I can see everything I’m working on.
I don’t like when space on screen is taken up by tools, so maybe make the menus have arrow buttons at the edges so you can hide them if you don’t need them.
For example if I wasn’t working with constraints while building I’d want to hide the bottom white Constraint buttons.
Thank you!
How would I make the properties bar on the right more round and bubbly? Yes, now looking at it, the difference is quite drastic
Also, the order of the white buttons is definitely subject to change, I’ve already removed the “None” button and replaced it with a “Part” button (spawns a new cube at 0, 0)
I will also probably replace two of the buttons at the bottom. But I’m not worried about their order, just if they look good :D
Thanks again
Id recommend just copying the colors and stuff you used on the other side, along with the font and I assume UICorners.
Uh yeah nice work!
Quite a minimalist design, interesting. They are already as narrow as possible, look for “Transparency” in my top image of the original post. The white buttons are already pushed to the edges as much as possible as well, the question marks get replaced by letters when you edit your keybinds :D
That’s what Ctrl + Shift + C is for, you can hide the UI :D
Okay, I might consider that.
Thanks!
Instead of making a super-complicated shortcut to hide the UI, just add a little button to hover what’s necessary and hide what takes larger parts of the screen. It’s easier and useful
It’s already built into roblox. Try it out
But yes, I’ll add little arrows to hide each section :D
This GUI looks good! Nice job on it! How long did it take to make this GUI? I’d say the words on the right are too close to each other, make them smaller or space them out more. What will this be used for?
Wait I’m a little stuck…
This is how it’s structured, and the top frame named “Orientation” is transparent.
Do I each give them UI corners? I’m asking because I don’t quite see your vision.
Thanks!
So yes you would be required to give each thing a uicorner,
My vision was that the Properties frame (or the thing to the far right) looks like the additional properties thing on the far left. Thus they would have the same style making everything match better. Or vise versa depending on what you are going for.
Thank you!
Excluding the breaks, about 6 hours. The time when I started to when I finished? About 2 days :p
Alright, I’ll give that a try:
I can’t figure out solidworks, blender, autocad, etc., even if my life depended on it. It literally does not make sense in any way shape or form for my brain. Therefore, I’m gonna make my own cad program
It definitely won’t have as many features as the others, but at least I’ll be able to figure it out :D
Thanks again
I understand, but I don’t at the same time
I think I understand how “Visible” would look (since it doesn’t have the lower section, such as X, Y, Z), but what about the others? Could you maybe draw one of them? Just “Position”, and I’ll see if I can figure out how to make it. Thanks!
Okay, if I just spam a UiCorner of scale 0.3 literally everywhere:
Scale 0.5:
Scale 1 (I don’t think I see a change compared to 0.5):
Edit: I need to send uncompressed versions, holy…
But looking at the original screenshots, 0.5 and 1 have a very very slight difference
The problem I mentioned earlier still persists, the properties and Additional settings UI look really different!
As you can see they dont look a like. What you should do is make them both match, they should consist of the same style, cause otherwise it looks off.
Just my thoughts :]
I agree, they do both look really different. But how can I make them match? Any ideas? Thanks!
Pretty simple, just use the UICorners, colors, etc that the side one the left has, and use them on the right side. or vice versa
