I have been getting into some GUI designs things since I thought it was very easy and all about just designing and placing some text and extra shapes and colors down. I was all wrong when I actually tried it since it was pretty hard figuring out what will look good with what. So after about 20 minutes of making a simple game front I have came out with this…
I think it looks pretty good but I know I will strive to improve myself even more since UI designing for me I feel like is more enjoyable then building and scripting which I enjoy but I find this more free and I am able to express myself easier. Please leave some suggestions of what you would want to see and some things you think I could of added of done a better job on. Have a good night / day.

P.S: The background to it behind the letters is a cropped screen shot of a game called developer hangout so credits to them for giving me the background.

Not to bad for 20 minutes of work/a first try. A few things I’d change:
- The highlights. I ain’t a massive fan of them and to me it just looks a bit distracting on the image, potentially just one colour would be better. They look better on the “Hangout” than “Developers” text - so I’d make it look more like that.
- I would mess around to see if it can “pop” more from the background - maybe see if it can be slightly darker, not much but it helps.
In the future, one tip I will give is colours! Spend time learning all about colours, on future projects, that will be the hardest bit you will need to master to ensure it looks and works good.
I think it shouldn’t be here but #help-and-feedback
Yeah, I just moved it thanks for noticing.

For the gui I like it, also because only 20 minutes, it is beautiful, but what do you use?
I don’t know what you mean by “pop” from the background maybe like a shadow behind it so it like pops out from the background? But I will use the advice to be careful with the highlights. I really love asimo because his color pallet knowledge is outstanding.
I use a free app called Photopea I heard a lot of people use it if they don’t want to spend the money on Adobe Photoshop.

Sorry, should’ve explained myself a bit better.
Pop in the sense of stand out more, it should be very easy to see from glancing your eyes there. Depending where this is used, the first few seconds could depend if there is a click to draw people to the product/service/game.
In this example, it isn’t blending into the background and is visible but it could be slightly more separate. As you said, mess around with shadows, see what you can do. If it doesn’t work, at the end of the day it is still visible but it’s worth trying.
