I am working on a Horror game right now.
I want some good tips on how to make a good, successful game.
I don’t know if this is the right Category, if it is not, please tell me.
My brain can’t really handle alot today because of this game I’m working on lol.
Also some extra info, I’m buying from a guy who will make me an AI system. It can do path finding.
I don’t know if I can buy extra stuff like crouching or something but yeah.
So to make your game unique get inspired through something. Also about the guy you are paying ima be honest with you the ai thing is great but you should have orignal concept.
If you want to take inspiration there is a game named “Dark Deception”.
Watch some gameplays and focus on mechanics and im 100 percent sure you will get a idea for a new mechanic that’s orignal no cap .
I Myself have been inspired by this game and got the concept of terrifying chase scenes and On The Run Tasks!
Though what I feel from horror games is that it’s very easy to learn to make one but it’s the hardest to make a masterpiece. On this platform due to the guidelines we already are restricted alot. To make a great game out of horror you need to have better meshes but that means more performance issues… this is one of the thin lines people struggle in genral for any genre.
2nd Thin line is how terrifying your game is supposed to be. There is something that i call Mehorror(Get it?! Yeah no i suck at jokes ) and the one that’s terrifying but that makes it age restricted as people already know it’s too scary. This is one of the reasons for “The Mimic Saga’s Fall”.(though i still believe it can make a great comeback.)
I heard of Dark Deception, one of the best games I have ever played.
I was thinking of something like that but I couldn’t get the exact right one, and you just said it.
So thank you for that. The guy I’m paying for the AI may have the Jumpscares and stuff.
I might also do a crouching ability. When you crouch, the monster can’t see you.
But it’ll be hard with very thin hallways. Thanks again for the concept
and the joke was pretty funny
