Hello, I am going to give advice on this… months later. Haha. Let’s begin to break down what you need to create this:
Compositional
Chords and their functions - and most music theory around these
Counterpoint - this is optional but will help add variety
Structural principles(if it makes sense)
Layering techniques - this is also a bit of sound design(puzzles to fit together)
Sound Design
An understanding of fundamental waves on oscillators
An understanding of ADSR(or envelopers)
Familiarity with filters(choosing which and for what)
Familiarity with modulations(chorus, phasers, etc.) - optional
Delays and reverbs are perfectly optional to create atmosphere
The best keyword to search for this is “synth pads”.
