Any Tips On How To Improve This? #2

Link to the first discussion: Any Tips On How To Improve This?

Hey again, this is the second post in this discussion; and I have worked a lot to remake the building since then. I took your tips into consideration, and this is what I came up with(this is not the final copy):

And this is what I made it based off of(I’m not trying to copy the company or anything):

Any suggestions?

Personally I think this is a great start.
But you could improve some things.
I noticed it’s very simplistic Which can be good

Example,The overhang is just one wedge ,Maybe add a few Supports tho this to add more flavour

Maybe add some outcropping bits of wall like the picture.

Good luck

Hey there!

Play around with textures which are available under objects. If you search up on google “sky scraper texture,” you’ll receive some great results that you can use for the texture of your buildings walls and windows. It’ll make your build look 1. More realistic 2. More professional.

Cheers!!

Maybe try and add a “glare” to the windows (white parts at an angle).
other than that it looks great!

You should definitely add more lights, possibly plants, more seats, some type of walkway and obviously, the text that you’re going to use (Amazon or anything that you’re going to do for this inspired project of yours).

Definitely add some floor tiles, maybe some pillars and a better way to show the visitors that the environment is promising and it’s worth staying in your game for a reasonable amount of time.

Thx for the replies, I will definitely add some supports and some more lights. Great idea to add floor tiles, I would have never thought of that! And yep, I will add a logo to the front of the store in the finished copy. Btw, @CannonTear, by texture did you mean a mesh?

Nope! Texture can be applied to any surface on a part. When you add a material to a part it affects the entire part, textures, however, allow you to adjust the look of all sides – six sides per part if using a primitive part.

Try this:

  1. Download this photo.
  2. Make a brick that is 10,10,10
  3. Add a texture as an object to your brick
  4. Under texture, properties upload this image:
  5. Mess around with the perstuds to get the desired size you want.

You should end up with nice looking windows.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

Cheers!

This is a great start Phantom! There are some simple things you can add to improve it. I would add more window frames to those 4 big windows, and textures would be a great thing to add also. That little fence could look better If it’s not too wide, but overall great start.

To add more depth into the building, I would personally try to extrude / indent the windows with the wall. For example, in your reference photo that you were basing this off of, you can see that the windows and the wall details aren’t flat, the wall sticks out as the window sits behind it.

Doing something like this will add depth and character to the building. Other than love the simplistic style!
