So basically there are a thing called places.
Which you can add into games.
Now I want to make a backup basically cause I’m about to do something big with my game.
So is there any way to duplicate places? Or do I have to do something else?
Save each to your computer files.
You should be doing this anyway in case Roblox or your Studio crashes.
You can also revert to a previous version of any of your places.
Go to:
File (top left of your Studio window)
Game Settings
Places
Under the Place version line you’ll see three dots on the right side, click it and you’ll get a ‘Version History’ button. You can see the dates of the updates you’ve done and revert back to a previous one (not the last update because that will be the one you want to get rid of)
You should have the option to either save to a new place, or save to a file as a .rbxl file.
As far as I know, just because you’ve published the game doesn’t mean you cannot save it as a place file.
Unless you’re not looking well, it should be there.
If not, could you send a screenshot of the options available when you do press File
I haven’t used it in a long time, but I wondered if it changed the save menu.
From what I understood a few years ago the team create sessions would auto publish instead of auto save.
Reply to the person with the issue (@froDev) next time since they are the one with the issue, not me.
I mentioned their name so they’ll get a notification and they will see both our messages.
Following BIGmartha27’s response, you should definitely check if Team Create is enabled (normally it is enabled on default).
If it is enabled, follow the instructions here to disable it. Then you should be able to see the “Save to File” option, and backup your place.
Strange, then you’ll have to save your place to a new experience, go to that place and save to file.
Whatever you want to do with the duplicated experience is up to you (most definitely just archive it).
