When a flare is shot the initial smoke expands outwards and the coloured smoke heads upwards with a drift towards the direction the player is facing, after a short period it fades and is deleted and can be shot again after the reload time
Planned use
If you know AOT you know that both direction and colour have many meanings for the flares so I wanted to be able to use them to convey those meanings in game without the need for guis or anything else, an example would be directing a red flare towards a Titan to warn players or directing a green flare towards a safe area
anyways I would like some feedback on how I can improve it so if anyone has suggestions im open to hear them!

The flare looks good, as said above you should make it thicker. Instead of going only forward the higher it goes, it should also expand in size but get higher even slower. Also make it ever so slightly transparent the higher it goes, then fully fade out slowly. The fade should be fast on the bottom and slow at the top.
When it reaches the max height, make sure it keeps growing in size, just in-place until it fades out fully.
This way, it shouldn’t bother the person shooting it and shouldn’t distract anyone looking at it.
Honestly the hardest part was the smoke at the base, idk why but that just decided to not work not matter what, all in all Id say 2 hours from start to finish not including procrastination haha
the flare smoke is broken into segments (I plan to make it more to make the arch more dramatic) but it basically stacks parts and the older the more they fade, as for how the game will work I kinda wanna do like a hardcore roleplay group (im not a good scripter so I dont know how to make a round based game type thing)
