Apocalypse Rising 2 Alpha Changelog 11/1/2019

  • Updated player stat management and sprinting mechanic

    • Removed stamina bar and displays from the game
    • Sprinting now causes Hunger and Thirst bars to degrade 2.5x faster
    • While starving, dying of thirst, or both, Health now degrades 2.5x faster while sprinting (you can sprint while a stat bar is empty, at the cost of your Health)
    • Added “stat freezing” effect for stamina boosters (hunger/thirst will stop degrading while a stamina booster is in effect)
    • Changed hunger fill healing amount to 20, was 25 (once the player’s Hunger bar is maximized, 20 Health will be applied - 20 seconds must pass before food can be used to provide more Health)
    • Adjusted how change arrows display on player bars to be more consistent
  • Consumable changes

    • Added secondary value buffs/debuffs to some food items, such as items that cost Hunger or Thirst but improve the opposite stat (or items that improve both)
    • Reduced spawn rate for most consumables
    • Added Moldy Bread, Spoiled Milk, Bruised Apple, and Old Banana as new consumable items
    • Reduced the spawn rate of stamina boosters
  • Changed some firearm stats

    • Increased recoil for AUG Assault Rifle and XM177 Assault Carbine
    • Increased effective range for all LMGs by ~100 studs (full damage will be dealt at a further distance)
    • Increased damage for Python Revolver
    • Increased headshot multiplier for all LMGs
    • Reduced aim-down-sight accuracy for all LMGs by ~30%
    • Reduced recoil for MP 40 SMG
    • Reduced recoil for M16A1
    • Tweaked recoil for AKS-74U
  • Changed ammo spawn rates

    • Most firearms spawn with much less ammo (except Rares)
    • Some firearm magazines like the M60 and M249 boxes will no longer spawn anywhere else, except with the firearm
    • Large capacity magazines have a significantly lower chance of spawning on their own, or with a firearm
    • Ammo that does not spawn with a firearm will provide about half as many bullets, whether it’s a magazine or a box of loose ammo
  • Improved doors and windows

    • All door animations updated to avoid zfighting
    • Some swing doors now have specific interaction points
    • All garage doors now have a control box interaction point (in the future this may be changed so garage doors can only be opened from the inside)
    • Most windows now have smashable inner frames, melee weapons or firearms are capable of destroying enough of the window to allow the player to jump through it
  • Spawning into an existing character will now always re-spawn you at a new starter spawn point away from players (you will no longer spawn nearby where you left the game)

  • Increased swing speed for Hatchet melee weapon

  • Improved melee weapon hit detection to prevent hit failure while an infected is staggered (the hatchet is especially more reliable)

  • Changed health boosters to allow use even if some amount of previously boosted health remains (boosters cannot be stacked)

  • Changed the screen desaturation effect to start at 50% health, was 100%

  • Fixed cases where zombie and player corpses would initialize in odd positions

  • Fixed some instances of interactable state syncing issues (broken doors)

  • Fixed some ground loot failing to load models
