Apocalypse Rising 2 Beta Release Changelog

BETA MAP RELEASE 7/01/2025

  • Added over 20 new locations, and included at least 18 revamped locations from the previous map iteration.
  • Players now have the ability to change their outfit and cosmetic loadouts while in-game!

Firearms:

  • Added 12 new firearms: M4A1, Operator M4A1 (updated), OTS-14 Groza, AS VAL, VSS Vintorez, RPK-74M, MSG-90, MK23 SOCOM, M21, M1911 F/A Custom, Model 94 Ranger.
  • Remodeled 10 firearms: L96A1, Spas-12, M14, M1 Garand, AC-556, Mini-14, XM177, M16A2, Patriot.
  • Added 3 new attachments: Soviet Reflex Sight, Soviet Military Suppressor, Professional Suppressor.
  • Removed 5 firearms: “Spetsnaz” AKS-74U, “Filtered” AKS-74U, “Vagrant” Lupara, “Admiral’s” M9, Type 37.
  • Changed names of all special weapons and some infected to no longer use quotes unless appropriate.
  • Changed M1903 to use loose ammo boxes to reload instead of requiring clips.
  • Updated double barrel shotguns and lupara animations to load only one shell if a shell is already loaded.
  • Changed inventory size of most 2x2 handguns to be 3x2.
  • Changed some suppressor loot pools and adjusted stats for all suppressors in consideration of new additions.
  • Reduced distance that gunshot “thump” sounds can be heard for intermediate caliber firearms by 150 studs.
  • Increased distance that gunshot “thump” sounds can be heard for large caliber rifles by 150 studs.
  • Changed hit sound effect when hitting the Lower Torso to be the same as hitting limbs (since it deals less damage than hitting the Upper Torso).
  • Rebalanced some firearm stats in consideration of the new additions.
  • Rebalanced some firearm loot pools in consideration of the new additions.

Cosmetics:

  • Added 120 new unlockable cosmetics, including 12 new military uniforms/camos from a variety of nations, as well as new militia shirts/pants, tie-dye shirts, tropical shirts, formalwear, trench coats, bowling shirts, and more!
  • Added multiple color variants to all paid outfits - if you already own the outfit, you will get the new variants automatically!
  • Slightly increased green ghillie suit drop rate for helicopter crash sites.
  • Added Gemstone Pendant Vest Items as rare infected loot drops.
  • Adjusted size of Gunfighter Cowboy Hats to allow Hair11 to be worn without clipping.

Misc. Content and Changes:

  • Added 3 new vehicles: Sports Car, Delivery Van, and Box Truck.
  • Map and Compass functionality is now available to all players by default - no utility required.
  • Added Utility Backpacks (high visibility safety).
  • Changed Infected volume setting to only affect Infected vocals (you are not allowed to mute Infected footsteps, unless you mute all characters).
  • Increased distance player footsteps can be heard while sprinting by 40 studs.
  • Increased amount of ammo transferred when loading magazines for all firearms, and increased interval from 0.33 seconds to 0.5 seconds [This is a net increase in transfer amount over a period of time.]
  • Increased Rifle Magazine Loading Tool and LMG Belt Loading Tool transfer rate buff from 25% to 33% [In addition to the above buff, loading tools now allow players to transfer twice as much ammo over a period of time compared to before this update.]
  • Reduced physical size of large ammo containers and battlepacks.
  • Increased inventory size of 7.62mm NATO battlepack to 4x2.
  • Optimized the loading tools for the client and server, massively improving server “startup” times compared to Alpha.
  • Upgraded the game chat to use the new Roblox chat APIs in compliance with new moderation policy.

Full Page UI/Menu Consolidation:

  • Merged most “main” and “game” menu UI elements into a single UI system. Removed the old character creator and skins tab, and added the home, shop, and character tab.
  • The journal tab has been removed and it stats moved to the Home tab. The Journal will return in a later update.
  • New store and purchased items inventory page.
  • Returned keybinds for “next page” and “previous page”.
  • Converted most major full page UI system to scale with the users monitor resolution.

Shop

  • Added a new shop tab to the game, replacing the buyable items in the old Creator item lists, and the old Skin buying UI.
  • Added new item and weapon skin preview systems.
  • Added new purchase history tab.

World / Ambient, and Map Interaction:

  • Added a map marker/pinging system. Holding the keybind allows you to select a color, or clear your ping. Team members can see each others pings.
  • Redid all interaction UI (opening doors, searching loot, so on) to support proximity based interaction (you can still click on things).
  • Reformatted and repositioned most interaction points for containers, doors, etc.
  • Reworked vehicle interaction to use the new interact system.
  • Implemented “Chunking 2.0”, a versatile new map and entity loading system that will allow for multiple new features in the future.
  • Scrapped dated level-of-detail system in favor of modern Roblox tech and optimization practices.
  • Added new ambient audio engine and implemented basic new sound regions that will fade out the ambient sound effects in certain locations of the map.
  • Replaced all door animations, creating a few new ones in the process.

Private Severs:

  • We plan to upgrade the tourney mode with new tech alongside an update to private servers that includes a free-roam mode.
  • The tourney build of the game has not been updated along with the Beta update, nor has it received any of the Beta update’s new content.
  • Data loading and saving has been turned off in private servers for the time being.
  • We’ll have more news on the tourney upgrade update soon.

Settings and Keybinds:

  • Reset all settings and keybinds (sorry).
  • Added keybind “layers”, allowing the same key to be used multiple times.
  • Redid all keybind UI elements and keybind contextual keybind prompts.
  • Reorganized all keybinds into new layer groups.
  • Split up the camera FoV setting into third and first person values.
  • Added interaction UI visibility controls for object highlighting.
  • Added new accessibility settings for various other new game features.
  • Set new default values for a number of settings.
