April fools joke for my game decreased my CCU

I made a simple april fools joke that everyone does (where they change the thumbnail and name of the game to something silly)

image

My CCU was around 140-160 before publishing the thumbnail and name updates. Its now at 40-60 CCU, hasnt ever been this low for three months. Im assuming roblox didnt like what i did for some reason, its stupid, i really wanted to participate in a funny trend where it looks like a child made the game, since its april fools. I changed the name and thumbnail back, since mainly people view my customized thumbnails other than the 1:1, but nothing has changed yet. Please help! Im worried what the playercount may dip to later in the day, since right now as of posting, these are supposed to be peak times (of 180+ ccu).

(PS - this also dipped my impressions, so this isnt a user seeing that the game may suck and not clicking it)

seems to me like most games also release an actual update when they do this?

When you rename your Roblox game to something that is not close to its original title, the Roblox algorithm will change for results to your game because the name has changed.

Because of this, a lot of players do not find the game in their recommendations or search.

When you changed your game’s name back to normal, it doesn’t mean it will gain 100+ CCUs. It will take time for the Roblox algorithm to bring your game up to the top list again. It will not happen immediately.

My game is usually pulled by the recommendation algorithm, not the search algorithm

Sorry, I meant the roblox algorithm, not just search.

if you didn’t noticed, ALOT of april fools updates are ignored by the players and they will wait for it to be over.

examples:

• Guts and Blackpowder: Daily 8K, april fools 3.4K max

•untiled parkour game: Daily 200, april fools 100

this is because kids dont like jokes

Based on what he said this is 100% not the case

No, not really. Usually it’s either the very serious or very new players that dislike the jokes. In general though, kids do tend to like the jokes and then they also tend to sometimes troll. Which then sometimes leads to people liking the game less.
