Are proportions off, or is it simply the style of building I'm making?

Progress so far within 2 hours, been tinkering with proportions. Am I being nit-picky or do the proportions looks off compared to the reference image? I feel as if it just feels weird since the style of building itself is rather unusual.

Any other critique is welcome. I’m aware though about adding windows to the sides.

I’d say that proportions are on point so far. The building itself looks really cool. Keep up the good work!

I really think the proportions aren’t the problem. A side-note: the lighting isn’t really appealing.
If you’re going to use Shadow Map, I recommend you change the time of day.

The build itself is definitely a new concept—and I like it. I can also tell you some part of the map that may be off (this may be intentional).

If youre referring to the purple section that is laid on top the roof, that is in-fact intentional. If it just looks like a mistake I’ll probably change it.

It looks proportional, judging from those screenshots and the reference photo you posted in the Discord server. The only issue I see is that the house looks quite small compared to the player. It looks a little bit too narrow for the players.

It is too narrow for a coherent interior, but I’ll probably end up just having this an exterior only. Don’t have much experience with making buildings with an exterior and interior together, so I assume it’ll just have to be something I’ll have to learn and get used to.

Proportions are a bit off. A two car garage would be about 6x the width of a doorway. Looks like you have it at about 3.5x, which may be why the interior is too narrow. It has a bit of a doll house feel to it, but so does the one in the ref tbh. I think it looks nice.

You’ve definitely replicated the house to near perfection (in fact the only difference I can see is that the purple sides of the centre window seem too thick)

I tried doing the math here:
Average male shoulder width: ~40cm
Average car width: ~2m

End to end it looks like you can fit 2.5 cars in that garage, so we’ll say that’s 5m (this is relying on image quality and perspective and all that)

With your garage, it looks like you could fit about 5 soldiers end to end in that garage (which for now we’ll assume to be 5m) we’re saying the width of the soldiers is 1m, meaning it’d look like this

That’s where I hit a roadblock; I have literally no idea how to compare a robloxian to a human (i.e. whether its right to say a robloxian is 2.5x the shoulder width of a person)

If you can figure that much out, you can tell whether its proportionate or not.

In terms of feedback, absolutely great job remaking the reference, looks sick and I haven’t seen that kind of style of building before!

Only one thing I have to say; I think I prefer the purple in the reference compared to the violet you have in your building, you might want to experiment with a darker shade of violet or switch to the purple in the ref.

I don’t believe any of the proportions are off, they seem to be fine. I would also like the compliment how creative and great the build is!!!
