Are topics of terrorism and/or revolutions allowed in games?

Are the topics of:

Terrorism and revolutions

I’m planning on making an old fashioned game where it is about revolution and going and

bombing government authorities and ships.

This is quite a sensitive topic for some people so I have put blurs. It won’t include blood, but will include dying. Is this ok or way too much.

The game will include:

  • Bombing
  • Guns
  • NO blood

Another question was:
That the game will be about revolutions against the British. I won’t say that the people are British just to keep other people in mind, but can I have the people wearing British uniforms?

I imagine that any reference to terror attacks, especially the ability to carry them out, whether fictional or historical, is massively against the roblox TOS. Don’t take my word on this, but I imagine you could get around the issue with the ‘bombing’ by using timed explosives, manual-detonated explosives, mines etc in the same context you might find them in a wave-defence game or FPS games.

I’d avoid anything that identifies the individuals or groups as being any particular nationality, or from any particular country. Make your own uniforms and your own buildings and ships instead of obvious landmarks and well-known designs that would be associated with a particular place.

Honestly, I’d personally avoid guns and bombs unless it was a cartoon pirate game or some futuristic space quest. Picking stuff that is relatively recent and recognisable is a fine line to be walking on.

I would avoid putting any references to sensitive topics in your game and I would certainly avoid any reference of terrorism regardless of your context as it is against the Roblox community rules:

Dangerous, unethical and illegal activities. Not only do we not allow these activities, we do not allow anyone discussing them or encouraging others to discuss (or take) such actions, including:

  • Hacking, phishing, flaming, exploits, cheating, spam, deceptive practices, scams;
  • Misleading, sexual or racy thumbnails or other images, videos or text;
  • Gambling with Robux or real money;
  • Terrorism, Nazism or Neo Nazism, organized criminal activity, gangs and gang violence;
  • Instructions for engaging in violent activities, including bomb- or weapon-making
  • Criminal activity;
  • Illegal drugs or prescription drugs without a prescription;
  • The use or sale of drugs, alcohol, or tobacco by minors; and
  • Blackmail or extortion.

Ok so ships and revolutions… i think is allowed now about terrorism and bombing governament idk honestly you have to check the TOS, just remember: terrorism is a bit sensible topic for some people (specially for the 9/11 horrors and is*s) so i dont think is allowed

Thanks to you too! I’ll make a few changes.

Oh, thank you for informing me! I’ll get rid of the idea then.

Hello,

It is perfectly fine to create historically accurate games on ROBLOX. Take a look at this example:
https://www.roblox.com/games/2627036812/Zulu-Wars

In it, you play as a british soldier from the victorian era and shoot at waves of coming african warriors.
The game states to be a “reenacment” and “doesn’t condone racism”, so if you put those things in your game’s description, you will be fine. If you can play a game where you shoot black people (africans) then you definitely can make a game where the objective is to destroy ships and blow up buildings. Mind you, that game is relatively popular and is indeed monetized. Up for two years by now.

Besides, terrorism is not allowed, but revolutions – bombing of government locations, for example – have nothing to do with terrorism, so you should be fine in that regard, regardless.

Cheers!

Moderation doesn’t care what you put in your game’s description. Adding silly notes like that is a waste of your game’s description because that doesn’t stop you from getting moderated. If there is a genuine reason for your game to be moderated, it will be. Just because another game exists, doesn’t mean it clears you to follow in their steps, especially if what they’re doing isn’t actually allowed.

Topics of terrorism and racism are not permitted on Roblox under any medium. This is clear cut in the Community Guidelines.

Im not exactly sure but this game rs - Roblox Simulator. Hasn’t been moderated yet.

True. Even counter blox hasn’t been moderated and it is very popular. However just to be on the safe side, I’m abandoning this project.
