Are you allowed to model hats via studio, union them, and optimize / finish them in blender and upload them as UGC?

I’ve been considering applying for UGC, since I make hats and accessories in roblox studio, I have recently learned how to import and optimize and properly texture them as meshes in Blender.

an example of something i’d want to upload:

Though i’m not sure if this is entirely allowed. I figured it would be because I guess Studio is considered a 3D software?

Although I’d recommend trying to learn Blender or Maya, I haven’t seen anything in the guidelines that says you can’t do this. As long as it’s the correct format and such, wouldn’t see why it’s not allowed.

You can totally do that. But I don’t know why you would union them instead of using Export Selection.

I union em seperately. It sounds really bad on paper, but I promise you it’s a lot more friendly on optimization once you see the process :slightly_smiling_face:

Well, you’d have to submit them anyways as a OBJ file, so I don’t think unioning them really does anything different than just using the Export Selection feature.

Thats what I do. I make the model / union in studio, export it as a OBJ, and do some cleaning and such in blender, and then import it into studio as a full mesh.

Yeah, but if you aren’t using a negative part, you don’t need to union them in the first place, just select more than one part or group them together and export.

I’ve tried exporting unions before and they completely destroy the geometry to the point where it is unfixable.
