Are you allowed to use the word “hell” in games?

Sorry I didn’t know what topic this goes in…

But I have seen plenty of roblox games use the H word in them. I am not sure if I could use the word though, although it really isn’t a “cuss word”. I have also seen games use “Damn” and other weak words. I am curious because currently at this time I am making this one game but im not sure if roblox accepts this.

Yes using the word “hell” should be totally fine for it is not a cuss word as long as your not using it in a angry way such as “What the h###”. The d word however I would say should not be used unless your game has a age limit of like 13 on it.

As long as you don’t say hell towards anyone Example: “Go to Hell”, you should be fine.

Words like ‘hell’ and ‘damn’ are debatable as to whether or not they should be classed as profanity. Since this is such a grey area Roblox do not police the usage of these words. If they’re used in insulting or derogatory ways (e.g. ‘damn you’) then this would likely be considered a violation of the rules.

The ‘hell’ in Tower of Hell isn’t used in an insulting way; it’s used metaphorically, hence why it doesn’t cause problems.

Since content on Roblox should realistically be appropriate for young children I would advise you replace the word ‘damn’ with ‘dang’ and the word ‘hell’ with ‘heck’.

If hell isnt allowed the “God” or “Heaven” shouldnt be allowed either. hate when things or people are bias like that.

Hell is allowed. Just not in a derogatory manor. Although “hell” is related to the terms “God” and “Heaven,” they wouldn’t be censored, as they are not bad language. The terms have very different connotations. It’s not biased, it’s logical.
