Asset Explorer (formerly known as “Asset Query”) is a Roblox Studio plugin that allows you to view, find and replace assets in bulk.
Features:
Fast: Can analyze a place with 120K instances in just 100ms.
Compact & intuitive: Designed for maximum productivity. No oversized UI; no endless menus.
Personalized: Respects your system locale (date & time formatting), Studio theme and custom icons.
Native undo & redo support.
Adaptive: Works both in edit mode and play tests.
Selective scanning: Use the pointing hand button to scan only selected instances and their descendants.
Reference selection: Use the pointing arrow button to select all instances that are references selected asset; you can also select individual references.
Supports images, videos, audio, meshes, animations, and packages. Note: Replacement isn’t available for meshes and packages as they require specialized code. There are plans to implement support but I am dealing with IRL problems, so no ETA.

I think your last update to add the issues system broke search / replace. I fixed it by correcting the spelling on the UseableProperties table (the spelling alternated between UseableProperties and UsableProperties and was broken), and correcting the instance[useableProperty] = replacementUrl to instance[useableProperty.name] = replacementUrl.
Overall a super helpful plugin, this is going to be a massive help in managing spritesheets!
Yes! I also have plans to improve it since it doesn’t particularly have the best user interface (it’s been a while since I last touched it). I want to introduce more useful features, I don’t know when, but I haven’t forgotten about this plugin because I always keep coming back to it.
I used this plugin often before when it was called Asset Query but i finally updated it, very nice upgrade.
But I feel like before I was able to select the found assets in the explorer. Does the new version not support this yet? Or am i misremembering and it never existed, if that’s the case it’d be a great addition.
I really hope this is still being worked on. The ability to select faulty assets directly within the plugin was the primary reason this plugin was so helpful for us. It’s very frustrating to update this plugin only to have fewer features than before, especially now that the plugin is paid. Why would anyone spend money on a plugin that now has fewer features than it did when it was initially free? The plugin hasn’t been updated since February. I’m starting to think no progress is being made whatsoever, which is a real shame for those who relied on this plugin to have this feature from the previous version.
I apologize for the lack of updates. My mental health has significantly deteriorated in the past few months, even more so in the past month, to the point where I am struggling to function in day-to-day life, so it’s very difficult for me to work on side projects when I am struggling to progress on paid work that would otherwise put food on the table.
As for the fewer features, the plugin received major overhaul to significantly raise performance bar, and provide proper UI with better UX. Due to how I typically work 1-3 days in a row and move on with projects, I didn’t manage to include all the features from previous iteration, which I intended to make up for in the next version within a month or two from the update, but as I mentioned above, issues got to me and I am now more worried about making to the next month without having myself starving and essential services cut. Regardless, I will see what I can do, and I will let you know in few days regarding a quick feature addition.
