Asset Manager will not upload new Meshparts if it can't find their associated texture image files

Issue Type: Other
Impact: Moderate
Frequency: Constantly
Date First Experienced:
Date Last Experienced: 2021-04-23 14:04:00 (-04:00)

Reproduction Steps:
Upload the attached .obj file using the new asset manager. It’s just a few polygons, but its material contains Blender’s default UV guide texture. TextureRepro.obj (1.8 KB)

Expected Behavior:
On the previous version of the asset manager, Studio would simply throw me a warning if it couldn’t find the texture image that was attached to the .obj file. This was the perfect behavior, as it allowed me to simply upload meshes that had materials attached to them in Blender without having to worry about deleting all the materials. This is especially a pain for me when I attempt to upload meshes that I’ve added a UV mapping guide texture just for reference in Blender.

Actual Behavior:
When I attempt to upload meshes that are supposed to have textures, Studio throws me this error and doesn’t upload the mesh.

Workaround:
I’m able to delete the object’s materials in Blender, but this is a nuisance for maintaining master .blend files for all my models.

Hello,

When I uploaded your mesh, it seems like the actual error message is that your mesh contains over 10000 triangles which is why it failed to upload. If you reduce the number of polys the mesh has, does it still fail to upload?

Oh that’s my mistake, I didn’t export the repro correctly. Try this file instead: TextureRepro.obj (1.8 KB)
