Atlantis Nightclub | Statement

Hi all,

Today I’m announcing a document that explains me, my story, Atlantis Nightclub and what the future holds. I highly suggest reading if you want to know about the future of the game, and as well as my story, clarifications and what I’ve been up to recently.

INSIGHT

Let’s start at the very beginning of the club…

Atlantis Nightclub was started as a side project back in 2016 while I worked on many other successful games and has been my first solo released game in 5 years of developing on the Roblox platform. Atlantis Nightclub has brought so much joy and happiness into my life since I have released it. It has brought so many people together and everyone who has played, has found friends for life. I mean that. Even myself. It has done so many magical things for us, the people of Atlantis. From myself, past owners, Ocaxi, all staff and players. It is truly magical what we have seen over the past years of ups and downs. I just absolutely love looking at old photos and youtube videos of people simply just having FUN! Atlantis Nightclub means everything to me.

When I first started to make Atlantis Nightclub, it was originally a side project with @sharkidave. The club was called “Club Vanity”, and was the first step towards Atlantis becoming a thing. Due to reasons, me and David departed on our own ways with other projects, and which led to me going full steam ahead with development after leaving a good group I had worked in for awhile with David. David and I have been great friends of mine for many years, and although we don’t do work and/or develop together anymore, we have kept in touch. And that, friends, is the reason why David has always been head of staff. I could go on about the story of Atlantis, and perhaps that’s for another time.

Now…

I have seen many people say to me “Atlantis is dead”, “not active anymore”, “you don’t care”, “abandoned your game” and I want to simply say, it may seem that way, but some of those statements are definitely not true. Yes, the game is not active anymore, and yes, it may seem like Atlantis is dead. We used to get 200-300 concurrent players constantly and we were one of the top earring games in 2018, turning over 24 million Robux within such a short little time, and any of you that have played Roblox since 2018 games would struggle to reach 100k concurrent players and was no way near how Roblox is today, 2 years later.

Let’s get a few stats to prove this…

  • 1.8+ million players have connected, played, and experienced Atlantis Nightclub.
  • 250k+ songs have been requested, played, and enjoyed by thousands.
  • 7+ million messages have been sent within the game, connecting players with others, * giving them opportunities to make friends, listen to music, and just simply having FUN!
  • 500k+ quests have been generated, and thousands completed for rewards.
  • 100k+ people have enjoyed our yearly events, such as Christmas, Halloween, and Easter, each year, in return collecting limited edition in-game items in rewards.
  • 600k+ commands executed to keep our game safe, for all players, staff, and guests.
  • 1000+ of community posts, such as YouTube videos and Tweets, and others.

THE PAST

I always get asked why Atlantis became dead in the first place, or why I haven’t revived/updated the game. I think it’s very important to think about the future, and not the past. However, those who do not know, I went to college to study production/theatre, and anyone who has been to college will know it’s very time-consuming. Not only that - especially when a new show was in production, I was doing 12 hour days which meant I just couldn’t possibly develop updates at the same time. I can remember when I was trying to produce new content - I went as far as programming features for Atlantis while sitting in the corridors waiting for class to start. Once I graduated college, I went straight into a working environment and have worked at a theatre since - producing over 12 shows so far.

PRESENT

When I first started developing Atlantis NIghtclub, my life wasn’t in a good shape to put it simply because of highschool, and the only thing keeping myself going was Roblox. I was hooked to a computer screen 24/7. I skipped school, I was worried about grades, I had no friends, and a whole lot more. My life was a total mess. BUT!

All that has now changed. Which now leads to the current presence of time… I have now been the happiest I have ever been. So, what have I been up to recently? Enjoying life. That’s exactly what I have been doing for the last 2 years. I have been super busy, working, building up my portfolio, both in theatre and in the game/programming side of things, and enjoying life away from technology. I am a huge countryside boy if you don’t know. I love the outdoors and I have been spending much of my time out there

RIGHT NOW

I feel like now is the right time to return to Roblox - I have tried coming back previously but it simply didn’t work. I announced the group revamp on November, 19th, 2019. I simply gave myself too much work to do, which was just impossible because of how busy I was. I had gotten very overwhelmed with the amount of work I gave myself for the revamp which I never ended up doing. I know this is the right time to return to Roblox. I’m feeling super refreshed. I have been working on the game for the past week, and I will continue to do so daily.

THE PLAN

As many of you are aware, I have always stated that I will come back eventually, and have always said there are so many features I want to include within Atlantis. I was never ‘finished’ with Atlantis because it has a lot of potential, especially with the content I want to develop for it. So that being said, hopefully within a month or so time, I will be announcing how we will go about this revamp. For a little sneaky insight, I will be doing everything in stages, such as the group and game. The new ranks will still be going ahead, staff promotion points will be going ahead, but under rebranding and some other new features. Details will be published once ready. I will be posting teasers and progression throughout the month.

I will let you know if my schedule changes, such as daily progression or if I simply can’t release the revamp within a month or so.

❤️❤️❤️

That’s it! I have pretty much summed up everything in this moment of time. Thank you so much for reading. It means a lot to me. Before I go though, I want to thank a few people for making Atlantis what it is today.

Thank you to the people who worked on the operational level as me, such as Ben and Harry. Thank you to all the head of staff, present and past (Connor;Connorr_r, Josh;Jvsvy, Thomsas;Trvxzx, Torrie;Onqt, Onqtt, Liv, Donna, Aaron, SteIvio, Jordan;ScriptedThunder), and especially thank you to Ryan, who has been amazing and I woudln’t be anywhere without him.
