You are correct; the behavior you’re describing, where the Atmosphere can utilize any RGB color, is indeed expected.
While we appreciate your feedback and are always looking for ways to enhance our features, improvements to the atmosphere system are not currently on our short-term roadmap. We will certainly keep your input in mind for future development considerations.
