Attachments moving random parts and models

I’ve recently been working on a game using beams and sometimes when I move one of the attachments, it moves a random part or model. It’s been happening on my other games too and its been very annoying to work with. Is there anything I can do to fix this or is it just a bug?

I think the attachment need to go into other part because if you adjust when attachment still in part I think it will stick like that
and if you don’t know here is the video:

Look in your Explorer window, you have the Spotlight in the Attachment, so no wonder it moves when you move the Attachment!

Except it moves random parts too, not just that light part. One time it moved a random truss. It isn’t because of it being in the spotlight.

Do you understand how the Explorer window is set up?
That Attachment isn’t inside the Spotlight.
The Spotlight is in the Attachment, Objects underneath and to the right of another object (with the Down arrow placed to the left of them) are children of (part of) that first object and therefore will move with them.
In this case consider the Attachment like a Model, anything you put inside it belongs to it.

Why are the Attachments in that Part anyway? What purpose do they serve? Does the Spotlight rotate with a HingeConstraint and that’s the Attachment for the HingeConstraint?

By spotlight, I meant the entire lighting fixture, not the light source. Also, I’ve been doing development work for nearly three years, so I’m certain that I know how it works.

If you were to look in the children of the parent part, there was also a beam. A beam requires 2 attachments to work. That is why I had attachments in there. The spotlight (light source) was to light up the stage. Light sources only have a range of 60, and you can not go any farther. The attachment was an extension basically to act as a light source that still moves relative to the entire fixture, instead of me having to use a part that was placed where the light was pointed to (example).

As I mentioned many times before, the problem I am having is with the attachments literally moving random parts, models, and unions that are most of the time in close proximity to the attachment, but are not related in any way except for the fact that they are in workspace.

Sorry for the necrobump but this is also happening to me recently. I have no idea how it happens.

I couldn’t find a bug report about this (and I can’t make one myself), but I do have a solution that worked for me.
If anyone else has this problem in the future, a workaround in the meantime is to just copy and paste the model and position the attachment normally in the “new” model. Oddly enough it will still “bug out” the original model, but your new model will be fine.
