Audios cutting off / Not playing at all

UPDATE : It seems every audio under my group no longer have my experiences as allowed universe ids.

Since 1 day now, my experiences’ sound effects are cutting off or not playing at all.

How it sounded for everyone 2 days ago :

Before

What it sounds like now :

After

This problem affects me and every players of both of the games I have under my studio / group (Rogue Demon and Rogue Ninja) which is why I assume it’s related to the latest audio permission change

No error in console involving the sound effects.
the reports from my players show that ALL audios are affected except the looped ones placed on the map like the waterfall

Most likely unrelated but here are my system information :

  • GPU : RTX 4090
  • CPU : i9 13900KF
  • Memory : 32 GB 6000MHZ

Expected fix

The changes with the audio permissions under my group (TS Industries) being reverted

I’m experiencing the same issue right now. I’d also like to note that every audio (despite being owned by the group) is getting preload errors (see attachment)

The audio’s seem to load however shortly after loading and playing the “IsLoaded” bool returns to false, causing the sound to cut off midway.

What seems to work is adding the experience to the audio’s permission list. I confirmed it no longer returns failure on that specific audio when preloaded.
This however is in no way an option for larger games as they contain thousands of different sounds. I hope this is a mistake on roblox’s end as I am in no way going to go through 1400 audios and adding every experience manually to every individual audio’s permission list.

Just looked and yeah noticed the same thing

Every single of my audios no longer have my experiences as allowed universe ids
I have hundreds of sound effects and can’t afford to manually put back my ids on every single audio

We can only hope they crack down on this quickly. This is pretty much a P0 for any game.

Want to echo that this is an issue w/a project that the company I work for is creating.

On both the client and server (In Studio), the sound’s properties load correctly (TimeLength for example, and you can click the play button in-studio to play back the sound) - but only on the server is the IsLoaded property ever set to true. Client cannot hear any SFX either.

Hey all; a flag meant to respond to low-memory conditions seems to be getting incorrectly triggered here. Since the system believes you are low on memory, it attempts to unload audio assets to compensate. We’ve rolled back the offending flag, and are investigating, so it should be fixed now – could you please confirm whether this addresses the issue on your end?

That’s what I figured the case was (When I removed memory-intensive assets - eg. meshes/images etc. from the game, it loaded the audio fine & stayed loaded in).

Updated my Roblox studio to the latest build and it appears it isn’t happening now - thanks so much!
